Easy, affordable, effective, and delicious
I love these as a solution to the problem of coffee water. Rather than worry about the ph and mineral balance of your tap, or mess around with expensive spring water to find what you like best, you can just buy dirt cheap distilled water, add a packet, and rest assured that you have a perfect mineral balance for your coffee. The water I make with these results in delicious light roast filter coffee, and I’m looking forward to trying their other roast profiles. They’re also surprisingly inexpensive; 12 gallons of water should last months, and assuming a 12 oz cup of coffee, these only cost about $0.13 per cup, which is a small price to pay for the increase in quality. I have not tried any competing coffee water solutions, of which I know there are a few, but I’m very happy with these.

Improves Workflow and Taste
I was skeptical that this would actually improve the taste of my coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can't compare it to other similar products, but compared to just using filtered tap water and descaling, this is a noticeable improvement in both workflow (not needing to descale) and taste. I will be reordering.

The best coffee I can make is with Third Wave Water
Wanting to take my homebrewing to the next level, I started using third wave packets on the suggestion of a local roaster. I was skeptical, and tested it against several other waters. All in all I compared:Third Wave classic profilePurified drinking bottled waterFiji natural spring bottled waterBrita filtered watertap waterI used a light roasted natural processed Columbian bean with roaster's notes of "raspberry, lime, cherry cordial", or in other words, fruity and acidic. I used the same manual pourover recipe with Kalita Wave for each water type.Overall the Third Wave packet mixed into a gallon of distilled water produced the best results and it really wasn't close. The cup had great vibrancy, acidity, fruitiness, and clarity of flavor. The Brita filtered tap water was the 2nd best, the cup had fair amounts of vibrancy and acidity, but really lacked any clear and distinguished fruity characteristics; it just tasted like a good acidic cup of coffee. In summary, third wave packets have basically ruined all other water for my coffee brewing at home. It's not the most affordable option (about $2.30 per gallon of water) but I mean we're also buying $20-30 twelve ounce bags of beans. Did we really get into specialty coffee to pinch pennies? If you want to take your coffee at home to the next level, and you enjoy dynamic light or medium roasted single origin beans, I'd recommend giving this a try.

It's a must have for distilled water
Hi. I live on a few acres outside of town and are on a well. The water is hard so I've taken to distilling my well water and then using it for our coffee and tea. What I like about this Third Water Mineral Packets is that they come in individual packets. 1 packet per gallon. I can do that. I like the way it helps my (distilled) water to have any sort of taste. I make 1 or 2 latte's every day as well as a pot of tea. I like how this helps me to have a better tasting cup of coffee and tea.

Works wonders!
Our friend, who is a coffee aficionado, told us we HAD to buy the Espresso Profile for our new machine. It has kept our machine running smoothly and making excellent coffee for over a year. Unless you have pristine water…YOU NEED THIS!!!

Pricey, convenient to use, machine safe( hopefully)
It is hard to evaluate this product objectively.I use RO water and add this additive .My TDS on the RO water is 16. Considering the very hard tap water we have - it’s great. The hardness in our RO water is 0.When adding the third wave - hardness goes up, obviously, due to the addition of Mg and Ca. and TDS goes to 130-150.The pH of the new solution is 6.7, not ideal but acceptable. The only issue I have is the alkalinity: we shoot towards 40, but with the sticks I use, I can’t tell if it’s 0,40 or anywhere in between.I also noticed that the pH of the solution tends to rise toward 7+ over time...Taste: I think that there are so many variables in each shot I pull : distribution, tamping, room temperature, humidity etc- very difficult to say what is the relative contribution of this additive to my water.I am hoping that the added Mg is helping with the flavour extraction...., and that this solution is safe for my espresso machine( LMLM).Summary : overpriced for sure, very convenient though, seems safe ( per la Marzocco people) and sometimes when I do a good job, coffee tastes like heaven!😊

Great for RO water.
Good product but too concentrated. Make sure you purchase a TDS meter to go along with these packets. It's a little hard to see in the photo but using 1 gallon RO water + 1 packet gives me about 190 PPM concentration. This is considerably higher than the ideal 150 PPM for optimal brew. As you can see, this is not a reason I would downgrade it from 5*, if anything consider it a gift that will last longer than advertised since it makes more than a gallon per packet. You just need to have a meter on hand to check. Don't worry, the company sells these cheap so I doubt it's a ploy to get you to buy more stuff from them.
