Better than Magna-Tiles and Shape Mags!
Let me first say I am not getting compensated in any way for this review. I am writing this because I had such a hard time deciding what to by because of all the mixed reviews for the various brands. I hope this will help some parents with their decision. I currently have 4 different sets of magnet tile toys: - 32 piece set Shape Mags (Purchased Dec 2016) - 2 Shape Mags 12X12 stabilizers .(Purchased March 2017) - 100 + 18 piece set Playmags .(Purchased March 2017) - 8 piece polygons Magna-Tiles .(Purchased March 2017) Our first set was the 32 piece Shape Mags. I put it on the kids' (ages 4 and 2) Christmas wish list. They loved it! Even after 3 months, they still loved playing with it, when most other Christmas presents were forgotten. The only problem was the 32 piece set is too small for 2 kids to share. After lots of research, I decided to buy the other 3 sets at the same time. Playmags had mixed reviews so I opened the set and examined the pieces before showing them to the kids. They were great! The plastic is sturdy and the magnets are strong. Maybe they fixed the problems that got them the negative reviews. Price Playmags 100 piece set + 18 click-ins (not magnetic) sells for $69.99 Shape Mags 120 piece set, including 16 fences and 2 people figures sells for $69.99 Magna-Tiles 100 piece set sells for $119.99 Magnet Strength Playmags, wins, hands down. One of the reviews said the magnets are too strong and caused pinching. Even my 2-year-old didn't have any problems with that. Magna-Tiles and Shape Mags have similar magnet strengths. Both are fine for building tall structures. Playmags just hold together better. Color Playmags and Shape Mags have the same vibrant colors. Magna-Tiles colors are a bit muted. I prefer the more vibrant colors, but it's just my opinion. Compatibility The sets mix and fit together perfectly. Conclusion 1st place: Playmags The price is comparable to Shape Mags. The magnets are stronger, which makes for sturdier structures. I prefer the more vibrant colors. 2nd place: Shape Mags The magnets are not as strong, but still strong enough to make whatever your child imagines. The stabilizers are a great addition. I highly recommend them to complete any set. If you really want the originals and you're willing to pay the extra $50 for a set of 100 pieces, then by all means, buy the Magna-Tiles. Other than that, I see no reason to pay more. Shape Mags are of the same quality and magnet strength. Playmags' magnets are significantly stronger. I plan to keep all 4 sets. If I buy another set for a gift, I would buy Playmags.

Number of pieces
Great purchase, holds better than magnitiles and cheaper! Keep in Mind 150 pieces includes windows and letters, so actual tile pieces is 130ish. Still keeping despite this due to quality and magnet strength.

Amazing way to inspire creativity and confidence!
My three kids and I absolutely love these Playmags tiles. This is our second purchase of 100 tiles. They have quickly become one of our favorite things to play with together. The kids come up with the most creative ideas, building houses, towers, and entire little worlds. I enjoy watching their imaginations grow and seeing how proud they are when their creations come to life. The magnets are strong, the colors are bright, and the tiles hold up well even with lots of playtime. I also appreciate how they encourage problem solving and patience while still being fun. It is such a great way for the kids to learn, explore, and build confidence without realizing it. I highly recommend these for any family looking for a fun and meaningful activity that keeps kids engaged and off screens.

Love!!
My 3 year old is obsessed with these !! They are very high quality!! She doesn’t even play with her blocks anymore. This is her new obsession. She makes something new every day and it just amazes me. I would say be careful buying this because you’re going to want to buy more 😂. Buying more right now actually.

Great value and quality
They are a great value vs. other brands. There are brands that are cheaper, but in quality also (P). These playmags seem just as safe and well built as MT. They are also compatible, the same size so they can be used together. My complaint with other “off brands” was that they were incompatible with MT due to the sizes being off. These playmags are exactly the same sizes. The cube was built using both brands. The letters are a nice addition, they are a bit hard to snap in so it might be tough for children to get them in and out. They also only provide 13 tiles, with one letter on each side. So you’re limited on spelling actual words but they’re good for letter recognition. UPDATE: After I left this review we were going through all of the colors and shapes and one of the green squares rivets fell out and was smashed. The piece still seems sturdy like it will stay together with no chance of the magnets coming out. But i figured i should add this after leaving a glowing review about how safe and well built they are.

Playmags VS Magnatiles
Since there aren't very many reviews for these Playmags I am going to write one. I usually never do reviews...however, I had a hard time deciding whether or not to purchase these and wished that there were more reviews...so hopefully this is helpful to someone! We have a set of Magnatiles that my son loves so when I saw these Playmags for much cheaper than Magnatiles I was very interested. However, I was hesitant to buy them because I didn't know how they compare to the Magnatiles (I didn't want to waste money I could have put towards another set of Magnatiles). I decided to go ahead and take the risk of buying them because I really like the variety of shapes, pieces, and colors Playmags offer. I bought the Delux Building Set of 100 plus the Add on Accessory set of 50 (4 cars, 16 fences, & 30 squares). I found them for a combined total of $124 plus free shipping on another website. Now that the tiles are here and we have had a chance to play with them and compare them I am very pleased with the purchase. Similarities Between Playmags and Magnatiles: -magnet strength is comparable -sets are compatible and interchangeable -durability seems comparable (time will tell...but so far they seem the same) Differences Between Playmags & Magnatiles: -Magnatiles have a small metal rivet in each corner of the tile (Playmags do not) -colors are different (I actually like the variety of the Playmag colors better) -Playmags offer a more diverse variety of shapes and building pieces -Playmags are much cheaper Overall I would buy these Playmags again. My son loves them just as much as the Magnatiles (if not more because of the fence, car, and window pieces). It also helps that I bought 150 pieces of Playmags for just a little over what a set of 100 Magnatiles would cost.
