This is the tool of choice during precision measuring such as hinge installation. It allows precise measurements which are needed during cabinet making. This T-ruler will work well for most precision work where measurements are critical. It's measurements are imperial, however they have other measuring devices that are metric. In cabinetmaking, it's especially useful. Plywood, melamine and hardwood are ultra expensive, and precision work can alleviate mistakes which equates to more productive work and less waste.This ruler is the 6 inch version however they have larger sizes as well. I use a 5mm mechanical pencil with this ruler. It fits into the small holes to mark the spot where you've made your measurement.I've used known 90 degree angle squares and the device is situated at the factor at a solid 90 degree angle.At $32.99, it's not a cheap tool, however for accuracy and precision, this is a quality tool at a reasonable price.This is a sold 5-star and highly recommended item.

High quality and easy to use. Ended up buying another one that is longer. Metric versions is great because imperial measurements suck.

This seems solid and well made, though I'd I've preferred a brass and steel one, it seems like those aren't to be found anywhere.The only thing it gets dinged for is that the small holes that seem like they're supposed to be offset to every other millimeter so that you can always easily make a pen mark millimeter aligned are actually slightly miscalibrated so they don't really align with the millimeter marks. I think they're off by some factor and get close to matching the mark at not quite regular intervals. Depending on your use, the degree of annoyance over this will vary.

I do a form of decorative wood woork called "chip carving". The one thing about getting it 'right' is a LOT of practice. I needed a T-square set up for metric measurements. Wish I would've bought one of these types of squares years ago. Makes layout a breeze when making story boards/layout sticks. Measurements are pretty close, the holes could be ever so smaller to get a finer line, but otherwise a crucial peice of my kit

I just got this tool and have already used it to easily mark mortises. It fits a 5mm mechanical pencil and is easy to use.

This is something I wish I had found a long time ago. The only downside is that mechanical pencil lead easily breaks when used with this device. Takes some getting used to.

Purchased this as a gift for my son. It has exceptional quality and should be part of your shop. I would definitely recommend this.
