Damprid refillable moisture absorbing tubs
These damn red tubs are refillable. You can buy the damprid product in gallon containers to refill these tubs with. These tabs come with a supply of damprid, but being refillable you can buy the drugs to refill them instead of having to buy more and more and disposing of them. They come six to a case. And the price is very reasonable. When I was buying them at the hardware store I was paying half again as much for a single container that was not refillable. They hold 11 oz of damprid product and they're easy to refill because they're not messy. And they're very safe for your shoes, books, clothing, stored luggage, other stored items that you want to protect from moisture, mildew and mold. I have used these for years and kept my good leather products and expensive materials mold and mildew odor free. I recommend them highly.

Works well, but...
Bought these for my husband to use in his closet, which tends to have a "shoe smell." They definitely freshen things up and absorb moisture. I find them to be a little over-perfumed, which is the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stairs. If you are not bothered by fragrance, give them a try.

As advertised
These absorbers do a fantastic job and are excellent for areas prone to mold and mildew. They provided an interim solution in an outdoor bathroom prior to installing better ventilation fan system.

A super product for a musty basement odor.
I could tell these worked almost immediately. I spread them out in my large basement and they start to dissolve to water pretty quickly. A great purchase.
