These state they are for beginners: they are not. I am certain they are great for engineering students who are pursuing a masters .... but much of this was way over our heads.

This book has been a valuable resource. However, a lot of the material uses outdated code. Make sure you are using an older version of python or that you have a good enough grasp of python3 to recognize where the errors are occurring. I found myself having to fight through a lot of the book to get some of the projects working, and on occasion was unable to get a few of them working at all.

If you are looking for a straight-ahead book that gets you into AI using Python quickly, this book is for you. You definitely need to know something about Python! Wouldn't hurt to know something about statistics either. I use Pycharm Edu, and all of the code worked fine. I did have to update some of the libraries, however.

It is a good reference book for people who are getting started with building artificial intelligence applications in python. It contains many recipes that help you implement various concepts. You definitely need some knowledge of python to understand the chapters. This book is not meant to teach you artificial intelligence but I found it useful to implement the applications in python.
