Clear and actionable
Slightly repetitive at points, but it covers assertiveness very clearly in a way that makes what can seem a bit of an abstract concept easier to implement.

Highly recommend
My psychologist recommended this book to me and I'm so glad he did. It gives you tips and examples that everyone can apply to their life. I've already noticed a change for the positive. Thank you to the authors for writing this book.

Good self-help book for improving assertiveness.
This book has plenty of anecdotal examples to help understand how assertiveness can improve just about anyone's life. I like that the authors stress that being assertive is not the same as being a jerk. I think anyone would do well to read this book.

A Classic in Self-Help
This is a classic in the self-help section. Great for Pleasers to learn how to be assertive (not aggressive). Highly recommend. Makes a good gift.

Some interesting points
This book had some interesting and helpful points for me. However, the endless bullet points and lists made reading this book pretty dull and it was hard to keep up with the text, as it oftentimes appeared very unstructured and rather superficial. Do A-Z but we won’t explain you how. Also, nobody can remember countless lists of over 20 bullet points, which the authors seem to deem necessary to describe their approach. Do we really need a list over emoticons?Contrary to this, I found the example situations outlining a non-assertive, aggressive, and assertive response very helpful. For me more of these examples and fewer bullet points would really have helped. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this book, I think there are better books on this topic on the market.
