I ordered 2 of the WD Black 770's each 1 TB, and 2 ACASIS Thunderbolt 3-4 enclosures, along with the supplied Thunderbolt 3-4 cables. I'm running on a 2019 iMac, 13.5 (beta) Ventura, 1 WD Black as a "startup" drive, the other as a backup with a 1 TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD as an internal drive as a secondary Backup, really slow compared to the 2 externals. The speeds as a startup are off the charts for an aging iMac, using Carbon Copy Cloner for my backups, 200 GB in just over 2 minutes, amazing speeds, everything is so much faster. I looked at other NVMEs but settled on the 770s, it was a great purchase, and I highly recommend these WD Black 770's NVME's . Granted sustained writes tend to fall off as expected, reads rarely drop off. The Black Majic tests were run over a 10min period, a 2 GB stress. If you're looking to speed up an aging iMac with Thunderbolt 3 ports and without taking it apart (risky business but can be done) to do an internal NVME, this is your ticket! Speed Tests say it all, for a 2019 iMac that's fast! Also, I highly recommend the ACASIS 40Gbps M.2 NVME Thunderbolt enclosures. A little pricey but well worth the investment. As a footnote, the "NVME Heatsink with Nano pads and Copper Heatsink from SGTKJSJS" (at $10 it's a great deal) installed on the drives rarely do they get warm to the touch maybe 50 ˚C. After a little trial and error, and some fiddling getting everything to the right height in the cases, once there you're good to go.

The WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 NVMe SSD has been an awesome upgrade for my gaming rig! Installation was super easy — just slot it into the M.2 port and it was recognized instantly. This was an awesome purchase. I am all about upgrading my things to make them last longer and this did just that. I need more storage on my laptop and instead of buying a new laptop, I bought this and installed myself. Great purchase and this along with a replacement battery made my laptop new again. 10/10 would recommend.

No problems as of yet! Super fast, super reliable. Loading times went down as my storage space went up. Installation was nice and easy!

Decent but, they could definitely do better in price and performance especially when this is typically geared towards gaming. Randomly will disconnect from my laptop while in use and for some reason I have to restart my laptop, open bios, save and exit, then start my laptop up again for it to re-register on my laptop. Scares me because how much data I have saved on hear. Ironically I have had HDD's last longer and more reliably than this 😬 for the price I paid, I feel a credit should be due to me. The lifespan may be runing it's corse for me after about 3 years 🤯 which is very very very very bad👎 I had no compatibility issues and the drive quality seemed like it was up to par. Don't be quick to judge a hard drive by it's name or look. The speed feel slighlty better than the older style sdd but for the most part it's still working.

I swapped in the WD_BLACK SN770 2TB NVMe drive to upgrade my gaming PC and I’ve been really pleased. It’s noticeably faster when booting, loading large games, and moving big files—the difference between waiting and not waiting is real. The drive feels solid (no weird heat or noise issues), and with PCIe Gen4 support, it future-proofs things even though my current motherboard is Gen3. Ive always had WD hard drives the last 25 years, usually the caviar black HDD never once had one fail. I run them HARD for about 2 years they are on 24/7 and I retire them as backup archives. A year ago I bought one of the WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 NVMe to use in my home-built linux tower and another for an external usb and they have been flawless. The tower is on 24/7 and here is the terminal command to check the drive done to-day, as can be seen it's been powered on 6,662 hours the "Percentage used" is how much out of it's expected lifespan has been used so far= 0% It had read 1.63 TB and written 3.04 TB, Ive seen another drive that had 9% used and it had over 39TB written and 17,000 powered on hours, so these are very durable drives! I will still replace it on a schedule like always, but probably 4 years instead of 2. I use htis drive for my operating system and downloading videos, video editing, downloads etc and back up all files to a WD 4TB HDD which as always- I retire as an archive every 2 years. This is a good way to manage your computer- use the SSD for operating systems and use a HDD mechanical drive for long term storage of files and content, backups etc. Unlike HDD, SSD drives can lose power internally over time and the power is what maintains the files on it, a HDD doesnt store content that way, they last much longer sitting as a backup unpowered. Another important thing is keeping the drive and internals of your device COOL, much easier on a tower/desktop, heat destroys electronics.
