Really nice, good quality floor lamp
I'm really enjoying this light. It gets super bright, but can also dim to a nice level for an evening light for reading or something else. Didn't think I'd be using the different color temps, thought daylight was all I wanted, but the warmer color temperature is really nice for those evenings. The controls aren't buttons but are capacitive, which I think seem like they'll be more durable in the long run. The gooseneck is covered in a nice rubber sleeve, and the pole it stands on is made of metal - overall it seems like a light that will last a long time. Assembling the thing wasn't nearly as difficult as some people here have made it out to be, but the instructions could be a lot more clear. I attempted to assemble it without looking and got to the last step before looking at them, and that was just to check that I was doing it right so that I didn't damage something. It's straightforward. Fish the wire through the tube, screw the threaded ends together, put the base of the pole into the hole in the stand, tighten the bolt on the bottom of the stand with the included allen wrench. That's it. If you're looking for a nice therapy light or just a bright floor lamp, you've found it!

Life changing!
I have struggled with my sleep schedule for decades. This lamp literally changed that completely in a matter of days. It functions flawlessly and actually works therapeutically. I like this particular lamp because I can keep it by my bed and bend it down to my face for my morning light time without having to sit at a desk or have space on my nightstand for it, and it can actually get within a few inches of my face, which is necessary for actual therapeutic use. I have been using the lamp for 4 months and have had no problems whatsoever. I started out using it on a low level for a few days and then progressed up to medium, which was sufficient for my needs. Putting it on high was too much and gave me a headache (I have chronic headaches that are easily triggered). Medium is my sweet spot for effectiveness without a headache. I used it daily for several weeks, and now I just use it a few days a week for maintenance. I went from struggling to go to sleep by 2am to naturally waking around 6-7am and actually getting sleepy at night like a normal human. I am so thrilled and only wish I had found this lamp years ago. Iโm buying another for my adult son who also struggles with his sleep schedule. Assembly was not a problem for me and I have never had a momentโs trouble with this lamp, so I donโt really understand the negative comments on some reviews. Mine works perfectly and feels like very high quality. I have no reason to think it wonโt last for years. VERY highly recommended!

Versatile
I bought 3 of these lamps. I use 2 when I model paint, one for a photographer light. I like the height adjustment for each task. The light and height adjustment is very easy. This light could be a one size fits all needs. The height is adjustable with the flip of a tab, with the lowest height starting at the bend of of the goose neck 3 feet to the highest 51 inches. If you adjustment the goose neck straight up it acts as a spot light. Tilt it back and it's more of a ambient light. The first light I have owned for over a year and is still working as good as new. The bright white light setting helps me to see true color variations. This is the best task light I have ever seen and is well worth the money. I have not used the light without the height adjustment. The cord length is approximately 68 inches from the lamp to plug.

Great lamp but Horrible manual. 11 months later it does not work.
THE BAD "cant put the lamp to the base no matter what I try what a piece of crap design." That was my original review of the lamp on the day I Purchased it. It took me 2 hours to figure out that it was a mistake on their instruction guide. There is NO WAY to put the pole in the Base if you follow the manual. There are 3 steps in the instructions. YOU CANT DO STEP 2 IF YOU DON'T DO STEP 3 FIRST. You have to extend the pole before you can insert the pole in the base. I called Customer service and they were no help. After waiting 5 minutes they said no one could help me and to leave my name and number for someone to call me back. Customer should not have to figure our why its NOT working and then realize the instructions are backwards. THE GOOD I would have given 5 stars if not for the frustration of trying to put the lamp together. It is quite easy actually IF you do Step 1 ,3 and THEN step 2. The Lamp itself is great for the price. Wish I would have had it during the winter. Really good lamp with different environment modes and 5 choices of light strength. EDIT on 3/11/23. ( purchased 4/2022) It no longer works. It only lights at the weakest strength. There is no way to change the bulb. Why make it non replaceable if it only works for 11 months? I have downgraded to a 1 star. Huge rip off. Edit Nov 8 2025 Bought another one and same thing only works for about a year. Then you will need to buy another one. Just threw my second one out. Purchased around Jan of 2024 stopped working a few months ago where it would only give a small amount of light. I took apart and made sure everything was connected properly but did not improve.

Mostly great with one flaw
Really marvelous lamp. I love that it doesn't only work as a light therapy lamp because it has adjustable warmth and brightness. My only issue is the power cord. It is thin (not like a normal lamp cord) and wore out fast. You can't get a replacement cord on its own unfortunately. Customer service is great if you have issues though.

Best light therapy lamp ever
18 years ago, I bought the original HappyLight from Verilux, a huge thing with 4 long fluorescent bulbs, and a very functional diffuser cover. What a workhorse. Still able to get 3rd party replacement bulbs a few years back. But 3 days ago, it finally died. RIP my friend. A few years back I did try one of the new much smaller LED therapy lights, but the light coming from such a small source without a decent diffuser gave me headaches no matter where I placed it (but I didn't have the option to put it above my head). Now with this floor lamp, even with a smaller light source, I can put the light far above my head and voila - no headache. Sitting under it now. This one is far more versatile than other light therapy floor lamps, because the height is adjustable. And looks better - has the smooth very flexible neck (and doesn't have the ugly corrugated goose neck that the other model has (sorry Verilux)). Has the same intensity dimmer and color light controls as their other top models. Can turn down it later and use it all day as a task or reading lamp. Worth every penny.

Frustrating Assembly
For instructions that seem pretty straightforward and simple, the actual assembly is frustrating and difficult. The product is fine. The assembly was aggravating.

Absolutely awful to assemble, but bright light once you're done.
These were one of the least understandable assembly instructions I've dealt with in 40 years of home ownership. The printed instructions are just WRONG. Attaching the base is the difficulty. Take piece B, fully extend it (contrary to instructions!) so only one cylinder is viewable from the bottom. Then use the Allen wrench to bring the metal disc in the base as far *UP* as you can. Carefully fit part B's cylinder into the base. It may take several turns/tries to accomplish this, but when it finally fits, you can see/feel it sink into the slot in the base. Then turn the allen wrench to secure it there. You'll need a flat surface (a tabletop, eg) to extend the lamp on while you hang the base off the table edge and a SECOND person to hold the base in place while you turn the wrench (unless you do this on a work table and use a vise to hold the lamp in place, though that's questionable with plastic). I'm glad I own it, now that it's assembled, but feel quite grumpy about it. Not sure how I can rate its "sturdiness" given that I've had it working for only about 10 minutes now. Hopefully it will last a few years.

Easy to assemble and nice touch controls
Mostly want to write the review to let people know that its not difficult to assemble. My husband laughed after I had it put together 60 seconds after unboxing, because he said there were so many reviews that said assembly was so awful. It took me 2 attempts to feed the cord through the center, and then threaded the base on. Literally didn't read directions. Hubby did mention the tip of stretching out the lamp to more easily tighten up the base and that tip helped. Now I am somewhat handy, but not a pro by any means. And this is not to say that other people's experiences are invalid - but that it might not be so difficult to assemble for you. The lamp itself is quality - the feel of the unit has a nice texture to it, it moves easily in position, the lighting levels are good. And it looks decent.

Game changer !!!!
Okay, first, yes, I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). In winter, living in Canada, I have less energy and I need a lot more time in the morning to wake up! I have always had a small desk light to help me, but the light source is always on the lower part. I have tried a lot of other, bigger, more expensive lights. They were good, but way less convenient than this one. This one can be adjusted just at the right angle! A bit on the side and coming from higher than the horizon point. And with the high output it produces, I use it 15 minutes every morning while I read the news. It has simply changed my life! Now I feel energized even in winter. I wake up in a snap, and can get through the day more efficiently. I really, really recommend it. I have curved it at the perfect angle, and because the wire that comes with it is so long, I can just pull it to my side to read, and put it back against the wall after. So I don't change my decor (a requirement for my wife).

Good product, but no low settings
Easy assembly, good form-factor, settings all cycle reliably. My one complaint is that even the lowest of the brightness settings is still very bright. If you're expecting to be able to turn this down to a setting suitable for evening relaxation or reading, this is not the lamp for you.

A well-made sad light
I purchased this light based on the many positive reviews. Some people on YouTube actually did lux and color temperature experiments with this light and it proved very true to its description. The ability to adjust color temp and lux intensity is an asset. Keep in mind that 10,000 lux on high is generally recommended. As for the problem some people had putting the unit together, I can't figure out why there had been so many negative complaints about this. It's basically common sense when putting it together and I found it very simple. You just have to be careful when completing the base attachment to ensure the wire fits in the groove in the small round metal plate in the base. Otherwise, very easy to put together.

Failed
Updating my review to one star. This lamp was good until it decided to just fail on us earlier this spring after just a couple of yrs. Turned it on as usual, same place as always and something in it blew and it turned off never to turn on again. Hate to have to throw it in the trash. Such a waste of materials & money. I have a lamp fm my folks that was in their house since the 70s and still works. So tired of the planned obsolescence crap they make now. Old review: Very happy with this lamp. Not a huge fan of dentist office aesthetic, but my home is in the trees & this light is a game changer in my shady dining room. My father came by and saw my son using it for drawing and noticed the strength of the light for task work & asked about where I got it. Didnโt have issues putting it together, but I did attach a string to the wire to pull it through. No biggie. Would have appreciated more instructions about technical specifications, research links & recommendations for exposure at different settings etc.
