Is it sharp? I thinking about picking this up for a con but if its to dangerous then It wont be alowed in.

It's a polypropylene practice sword. There are no sharp points or edges

The shipping weight is listed as 1.1 lbs (a little under 1lb 2oz.). This sword is almost exactly the same form factor as my metal Dao, but weighs a lot less (I believe my Dao is around 2 lbs - and it's a trainer, not a realistic battle Dao).The other sword from BladesUSA is a little heavier and seems to get better reviews, but it's several inches shorter. So, I'm thinking about getting this one and adding some weight to it somehow.

How do you slide the handguard all the way to the bottom of the blade?

It's difficult, and requires some leverage, but if you have the guard on the wrong way, it won't click in. There should be little slots that match the shoulder of the blade, and they have to be lined up correctly
