A really nice LED "Edison-type" lamp.
This is a very nicely made, very high quality LED lamp. It comes nicely packaged in a study box, wrapped in bubble wrap. When you pull it out of the box, it's clear that the company that made it cared about the product. The fit and finish is very nice and "MODVERA" is printed at the base of the glass bulb envelope. The combination of the LED color and the amber tint yields a light output that is very yellow to which some people may object. I like the yellow light, as it is very warm and compared to the harsh fluorescent lights I usually sit under...very soothing. The light has no perceptible 60 Hz "strobe effect" when standing still, but if you have the lamp lit up, say in a socket that you are holding and you move it, you'll see a little bit of 'strobe effect." This is not unusual for LED lamps, as they are Direct-Current (DC) devices, so the bulb's internal circuitry must rectify the Alternating Current (AC) from the wall outlet to the DC that the LEDs require. So depending on the circuity, you may see a little 60 Hz or 120 Hz "strobe effect" if you were to move it very quickly. The lamp seems to put out the light as would a standard 40 watt incandescent bulb and even after being turned on for a while, barely gets warm to the touch. I've got the lamp in a socket mounted to the top of a mason jar and its quite visually appealing. All in all...a nicely made lamp that gets a lot of complements.

Bright, seems to be 2700K like it says, and they look nice
These bulbs have a really good look to them. The fixtures I'm installing them in haven't arrived yet but I took each of the 12 bulbs I ordered and tested them in a lamp.I'm glad I did... 2 of the 12 had issues: one was non-functional entirely and the other one worked okay, but the glass of the bulb had some kind of milky film. On it's own that might be an interesting look but it would have looked weird with all the others since they'll be exposed. The seller, SBJ Supply, was great when I contacted them. They told me to go ahead and toss the bad bulbs and they sent two new ones right away. The replacements worked great, so now I'm ready to get these things installed. Don't tell them, but I kept the milky bulb anyway... who knows, maybe I'll find a single fixture somewhere where this would look cool by itself.I may alter my review later once they're in and have been running a while. I just hope they last a long time, but so far I'm impressed with how bright they are, and the color temp is just what I was expecting, around that 2700K as advertised.

3 of 4 lasted <2 yrs with about 10-20 hours use.
Nice bulbs, good look and color. But, one only lasted 18 months and it's on a fixture we use only seldom on the back patio. Probably got 10 hours out of it. But the good part, Modvera replaced it promptly although the new one doesn't match the old ones (they are no longer an "X" style filament.Update at 2 years. Another failed. A third one separated between the glass and the metal end. The seal/glue is failing on all of them between the glass and metal and condensation is forming where the wires pass into the bulb, making them fail. Bobcat Lighting now wants me to send them the bad bulbs at my cost before they'll replace them. I did this, cost $12 to ship. Another month passed with no new bulbs. Contacted a few days ago and their response was "An order for your replacement bulb has been placed and will be shipped within the next few days." So I spent nearly the price of the bulbs to ship them and then they just ignored them.

... just as shown in the picture and I'm very happy about that because all the other bulbs I see ...
The lights came just as shown in the picture and I'm very happy about that because all the other bulbs I see have straight up and down led filaments. However the strange thing is the bulbs were in boxes that didn't match the actual size, wattage or brand of the bulb. I found this odd. Like the bulbs were ordered in bulk and then someone stuffed the bulbs in someone else's left over boxes. The lights look wonderful and are plenty bright. They are not dim like a regular Edison bulb. If you want to look directly at them then this isn't the bulb. We need the brightness so I am happy with them. They are also a nice soft white as described. We have had them for probably less than a month so I don't know about longevity. Even though they came in a different box than the brand of the actual bulbs, I am very pleased with them and would recommend them to everyone unless you want a dimmer bulb. The angled filament looks sweet.

Nice bulb but inconsistent manufacturing...
these bulbs get VERY bright - too bright to look at or be in the line of site at full brightness. Usually edison style bulbs are meant to be seen (decorative) so I think these might be too bright for that purpose but they seem to be 75W equiv just like the description states. That said a few bulbs had glass pieces floating around the inside of the bulb and most bulbs' filaments were leaning towards one side inside the bulb which, when off, made the bulbs look super sloppy.Keep in mind when the bulbs are off, and if they are in plain sight (again as usually they are intended to be), the filaments themselves are large and yellow so they don't look vintage when they're off.

Closer and closer....
As a photographer, I am EXTREMELY picky about light color. I want to love warm white LED lights, I REALLY do, but their output is usually just... wrong. It leaves skin looking sick and flat. This is the closest I've seen yet to an acceptable warm white. Still has a bit of the jaundice problem. I wouldn't use it as my ONLY light source, and I'd never use it to take photos by, but it comes a LOT close than every other bulb I've tried {writing this in early 2016}. Still not the magic of incandescent, but.... getting there.Just don't depend on this to be the only light in a dim romantic setting and you'll be happy with it.

Beautiful basketweave pattern bulb
I've tried several brands on Amazon, and these were the winner for looks, color quality, and dimmability. The best feature of the Modvera bulbs is the filament pattern, which bears a strong visual resemblance to the squirrel cage pattern used in actual vintage filament bulbs. So... it's rather odd that the product page on Amazon shows an incorrect picture of the bulbs as their main product photo (and which doesn't look as good as the actual bulbs). To see what they actually look like, see the user photo posted by another reviewer. I call this pattern "basketweave" because of how it looks.
