Amazon Basics Airtight Food Storage Containers, BPA Free, Dishwasher Safe, with Twist/Turn Lids, for Kitchen Pantry Organization, 10-Piece Square Set, Clear Plastic

These are amazing and far and above the “other” brand. I have a pantry full of OXO Pop Tops. I loved them. They were pretty and I *thought* airtight. That is not true. How do I know? Pantry moths. Something we brought into the house had a pantry moth and they multiplied. It was awful. I thought we had it under control but would still find one every once in a while. Blech! Fast forward to me purchasing these amazing Amazon Basic storage containers for use with nuts/seeds, etc. in the fridge (for freshness) and they’re so great they had me rethinking all my “old” containers. This morning I pulled out my container of pine nuts and the pictured is what I found. It was an OXO. It is horrific! Now I literally trust nothing that has been in the OXO containers because I know they’re not truly airtight. With the Amazon variety, it’s not even a question. The locking mechanism on top is amazing. You feel the top get sucked into the container and you can hear it when you unlock it and it’s released. Also, they’re so much less expensive. The set is great, sizes are perfect, and the cost is so much less than a similar set of Oxo that there’s just simply no reason not to get them.

This is one of the rare times when the Amazon Basics brand has a product that is clearly superior to the market leader. In this case, the natural comparison is to the XO brand. We own both, so the comparison was easy. Everything about these containers reflects a high quality design and construction. The clear plastic containers are of comparable quality and weight to the XOs, but we found that the Amazon locking mechanism is superior to the name brand XO product. These seem to lock more securely, and the design makes it possible to easily stack the smaller containers.

This is the BEST alternative if you were wanting the OXO Good Grips POP containers. Those are very expensive for just a few containers, where these give you 10 for a very reasonable price. These are perfect if you don't like the look of containers to have the side-locking lids (like me). I was so impressed with the quality and the airtight lids that I bought another set as soon as I got them. I bought some pantry stickers to put on them, and they look amazing!! I'm looking forward to placing them all together when my pantry is finished getting remodeled. When you turn the knob on the top of the container, you can tell it's extremely secured. Don't think twice, this gives you the perfect organized pantry look without the ridiculous price.

Great food containers!

These containers WORK. I live in Florida and they completely stopped bugs from getting into my pasta and pantry items. The twist lids feel backwards at first, but you get used to it quickly, my toddler even opens them easily. One lid did crack on the grip early on, but it still worked until about 10 months in when the plastic finally gave out and the spring popped out. So my set went from 10 to 9, but the rest have held up great. For the price and performance, I’d still buy them again.

I bought these to organize my pantry cabinet. I was annoyed with the pasta stored in ziplock bags. These have worked great so far to store the pasta, I used my label maker to identify the type and cook time of each pasta, and my pantry is finally easy to find things in. I only hand wash containers like this, so I can’t say if they’d be ok in the dishwasher. They seem durable so far and the lids seem airtight.

So I already own a 3 set of the old, round OXO pop top airtight containers. I love them, but I honestly prefer these locking lids so much more. The set is amazing at keeping pests at bay in an older house and, because the lid isn't a pop top, you can stack them much more easily. Basically, if you love OXO airtight containers, these are on par quality wise and might be more your speed functionality wise. I could see someone having a preference for the pop top style lids if they can't use their hands to open things as easily, but these lids are still pretty simple to open. You don't really need to, but it's easy to get a good grip on the locking mechanism and it doesn't take much pressure to open.

These are great. Love how they stack. Each top has a center piece that turns to lock & unlock. Very easy to use. They are plastic & will break if dropped from counter to floor. I will buy again.

Very good quality containers. They seal tightly, are easy to stack, and help keep food fresh. The different sizes are very practical for everyday use. Great value for money. Highly recommended!
