Excellent quality, long leash

We have a very strong 75lb Labradoodle who is very well trained, but really likes to run around us while we walk in the park and also still has yet to master his self control when it comes to restraint when encountering other dogs on walks. I own 3 different kinds of leashes and this is definitely my favorite for walking! Here's what I love about it: -HEAVY DUTY: This thing is legit. We put it to the test on Halloween night when we took our dog out with our son trick or treating. A lot of dogs were out that night, including our dog's "girlfriend" who lives down the street who is also a Labradoodle. Whenever our boy sees her he goes nuts and bolts for her. He nearly tore my husbands rotator cuff but this leash held strong! And then when they started wrestling each other in a neighbors yard and got all tangled up, the tape was easy to untangle and slipped right back inside no problem! This is a well made product that has definitely earned it's big dog title! -LONG: I'm so glad we opted for the extra long 26' length as opposed to the more common 13' length. Our big boy is an autism therapy dog and he needs a lot of exercise. I love that he can follow his nose around and then run and catch up as we walk around the park. This is great for big dogs who love to run and need a lot of exercise! -COMFORTABLE AND EASY TO USE: This is a very comfortable leash and very easy to use. It's so easy that our autistic 5 year old can hold it no problem! I can wear winter gloves while walking him, which in our climate is a must, and have no trouble holding it or operating the break. My only complaint so far is that the collar/harness clip is squeaky while walking. I plan to oil it so it doesn't squeak but my dog is constantly looking around for birds because it kinda sounds like chirping. A little annoying but hardly worth knocking off a star. So far I'm really thrilled with this leash. I did NOT receive this for free or at a discount. I paid full price! Hope this helps!

The leash is very heavy but it is the strongest leash I've ever seen or used. The other leashes we have strain when trying to control our 105 lb dog but this leash stops him in his tracks when I push the stop button. Build quality looks and feels great but it only been 2 weeks. Saying that though I see no reason this leash won't last a long time and the lead is capable of being relaced if it was to fray over time. I recommend this leash to anyone who has a large to xl dog but it maybe a little overkill for smaller dogs though it will work for all!!

I have been using these Flexi leashes for three decades and they are great. They are retractable so they never get tangled up with your dog and they allow your dog to explore a circular area with a diameter of 52 feet. The thumb lock lets you lock the leash at any length and the lock is secure-- that is, if you have a big dog and have to forcefully pull them away from something like another dog, the locking mechanism does not slip at all. You can set the lock to stay engaged or momentarily lock the leash which is a great option. I recommend that "tape" version versus the "chord" version. The latter can easily burn your leg if your dog runs after something and the chord is against your skin. This happened a couple times over the years. I switched to the tape version and have never had an issue since.

This is very solidly made, but pretty heavy to carry around.

Pros: * Comfortable grip * Very durable * Reliable retractability * Locking mechanism is reliable Cons: *Bulky and heavier than other retractable leashes. This is necessary for restraining larger dogs. This may be uncomfortable for weaker or older individuals. My 65lbs Golden Retriever broke 2 other retractable leashes while going after squirrels. I switched to this leash and it performs wonderfully.

Nice Lead! Worth the money.

I have three large dogs, they are between 55 and 75 lbs. When I walk them all at once, I put the largest on one of these leashes and the lighter two on a dual lead attached to one of these leases. The original version was an 8 meter version those leashes lasted nearly a decade of these conditions. The 10 meter leashes are replacements. I have kept the original 8s as a backup. Reason for replacing the 8s, the sides of the tape wore down allowing the tape to fold over on itself and prematurely halting a complete retraction of the leash. After nearly a decade of use they still function. Good engineering, durable components === VALUE VALUE VALUE! Well done Flexi!

Excellent lead - and you can use a harness with a dog seat belt attachment for even more length, when you are away from traffic Version bought: flexi Giant Professional L Tape 10 m black/ neon yellow [10 meter version] This is an excellent durable lead, though the "flexi Giant Professional L Tape 10 meter" is rather large and heavy at 890 grams on my scales. If that doesn't put you off, then for a dog which cannot be let off a lead, like mine could not, then walks in the countryside, woods or in a park with this 10 meter lead and a harness attached to a dog seat belt attachment - giving a total length of about 11 meters (and a more comfortable experience than a collar connection) - might be the closest thing to true freedom that your dog can feel. Given that the "L Tape 10 m" lead is quite large, heavy and expensive, particularly at or near its full price, I would imagine that the less expensive 8 meter versions - "Medium" or "L Tape 8 m" depending on whether the dog is under 25kg or under 50kg - together with the harness and dog seat belt attachment, should also offer a very good experience, and are no more expensive than many other 8 meter leads when on offer. Some of those other 8 meter leads might seem like better value for money, but often don't perform as well or last nearly as long, so are actually a false economy compared to these flexi leads. (The "Extra Large" 8 meter lead for dogs up to 75kg is also quite expensive, but so might it's competitors be for that weight category.) But this 10 meter one really would be my choice for offering ultimate freedom for dogs up to 50kg, especially if it's on offer and you don't mind the size and weight. For me personally, it might have felt like a hit in the pocket when I clicked on the "Buy" button, but it was sooo worth it - as I think that my dog experienced years of extra freedom from that additional 2 meters of length, long after I'd forgotton about that one-time expense. I found this lead to be strong, sturdy and easy to operate, with an intuitive and reliable locking/unlocking mechanism. It was easily able to manage being pulled on by my 25kg-30kg dog for years of use. A couple more points: I would not recommend using an extendable lead like this with a harness and seat belt attachment if you are going to be walking along the street or near traffic - as that extra meter or so is non-retractable and your dog could dart out unexpectedly. (The beach might also be more awkward if there are many other dogs around and not much space.) You can, of course, attach it to your dog's collar for those occasions. However, I'd recommend getting another shorter lead, such as a 5 meter extendable lead, for shorter walks where the intention isn't to exercise your dog, given that this lead (the 10 meter version) is somewhat large and heavy. Personally, I can highly recommend the Cool Bud "smartelf Retractable Dog Leash Heavy Duty Walking Lead for Small Medium Large Dogs Up to 110lbs" [50kg] here on Amazon, as these two - along with a sturdy short chain-link lead - were my leads and I was very happy with all of them.

This lead is quite heavy (and expensive) but the only one I could find that is 10meters and Amazon was the best price. The extra length is great when our dog wants to play in the water where she must be ‘on lead’. It feels good quality and although harder to put the lock on and off dispenses and reacts very smoothly. The tape is much safer than a thin cord that can cut into you. Although I wish it came in any other colour than the Fluor yellow.

Muy buena . La utilizo con collar de adiestramiento un para controlarlos instintos un malinois de salir corriendo detrás de cualquier animal en el monte. Es fuerte , visible ,resistente, con poca tensión sobre el collar al moverse. Me gusta porque le liberas al perro como y si intenta hacer algo que no te gusta le controlas fácilmente.
