Cable is compatible with 2026 Macbook Air M5
I bought this cable hoping to connect my brand new 2026 Macbook Air M5 to my 2009 iMac screen. No one would clearly say with certainty whether it would work or not. But YES! My old 27" iMac screen is displaying the MBAir screen. It is fully compatible! I have it hooked up with an old StarTech KVM switch, so I can switch back and forth to display my old 11" Macbook Air or my new 15" Macbook Air. Or I can use the iMac internal switch (Cmd-fn-F2) and display the iMac itself on its own screen. The USB part of the StarTech device no longer works, so I bought a 4x4 USB switch and I can use the same keyboard with all 3 computers.

Not a solution for older MacBooks
This is a great and very well-made cord. BUT, it did not work attaching it from my 2015 MacBook Pro two a newer model Dell monitor with HDMI. I had my hopes up.

Well made. Rugged. Proper length for my project. Not really Firewire. USB-C only I think.
Needed a rugged longer than normal USB-C cable and wanted to connect a firewire disk and dump the data on it before I used the cabler USB-C. I could never get any of my firewire disks to connect through this cable and I tried a lot of things. I finally connected my Apple Firewire cable and the disk connected in every adapter configuration. So I suspect this is a USB-C only cable. At least it is for me. But it is fine, rugged and works well as a USB-C cable. It also worked as a mini-display cable using displays. Is it the disk? Cable? Do not know. Replaced with an Apple cable and worked fine on the disk.

The cable came in great condition and was as advertised. It just didn't work with my devices so the compatibility was off. I think it was overall good though.

Quality, Reliability, and Excellent Consistent Performance
This is a very good cable at a very good price point. The fit into my Mac input and my Audio interface was solid. Data transfer was consistent and quick. I recommend purchasing this Thunderbolt cable.
