Best New Purchase for Engineers!
I have always had 3D printed parts made for my work thru 3rd party services. We routinely make SLA, SLS, and FDM parts with outside services. I have never used or had a personal printer of any kind for myself or work, but i finally decided to try this one out. I chose it specifically for its use of high end mechanical resins, since this is what we need for work 95% of the time. we dont make toys or figurines, we make mechanical parts that go into electro-mechanical devices. I also thought that at this price point, it was worth trying it out. not a huge loss if it didnt work. i (and my co-workers) have been blown away with this machine. it is just amazing with the quality of prints we get and the ease to make them. there is no secondary process, so other than cleaning support structures off the part, thats it. no rinses, no curing, etc. just print and use. i have found that i can even print a majority of my parts with no supports at all, and they work just fine for what i want/need. the setup was easy, even for a 1st time user. the software and touch screen are super easy to use and understand, even if you've never used a printer before. the abilty to adjust parameters in advanced or expert mode, make it very adaptable. the pre-set configurations are also great and seem to work 90% of the time right from the start. we have had no issues printing the PA-CF materials with it. this is a DFM printer, so there are limitations; there is always going to be a less than desirable side to the print, so you have to consider that when you set it up and orient it. But the quality and detail of this printer and the finished parts are just amazing. nobody can believe these parts came out of the DFM printer with just the "fine" print option. i havent even tried the 2 more detailed settings yet. i cant imagine it getting even better. As you can see from these 1st prints below, there are some fibers, and missed areas, but these are literally my first attempts ever at a part, and they came out this good. i 100% was able to use these prototypes and have them running in units for testing now. i wasnt worried about the minor cosmetic issues. again, these are for mechanical use, not costmetics. we havent even started to explore all the variable adjustments we can make to make the cosmetics better, so we have lots of learning to do. i did have some general use questions, and customer support was great. i emailed them and they responded with hours (they are in Asia, so there is a time delay). But i have had nothing but positive results so far. And, at the cost point of this machine, its just crazy not to try it. the machine is reasonably priced and the fillaments are inexpensive to buy and try. with the high temp nozzle, we can really try some great materials, like PC, carbon fiber, glass fiber, etc. I would hightly recommend this product for engineers, designers, and serious tinkerers. i dont think its the greatest machine for using low end materials, so if you want that type parts, then one of their other machines might be better. The machine is rather large, so you need room to have it located. IT IS extremely quiet too, so if it was in the same room as you working, you wont mind at all. give it a try, i dont think you will be dissapointed.

More Than Expected
I did a lot of research and I found that the Qidi X-CF Pro is the best value in the growing desktop FDM carbon fiber 3D printer market. This printer was developed specifically for printing stronger-than-metal parts using carbon enhanced filaments. But Qidi also retained the capability to use the same printer for common filaments such as PLA and ABS by providing two easily swapped extruders. When compared to other printers, the X-CF Pro hits the price and capability sweet spot. Printers with comparable capabilities start at more than double the price. I am going to use the X-CF Pro as a fast and inexpensive way to make high strength parts and tools. I can replace expensive metal parts and machined aluminum components with prints that are just as strong, but lighter. Manufacturers can print functional prototypes, jigs and fixtures. Hobbyists can print parts for R/C cars, robots and similar projects that are stronger than over the counter parts. Unlike some competitorโs machines, you are not locked into using specific filaments. Qidi does provide some very good in-house developed filament options, but they are not required. Then there is size to consider. While others may advertise their system as desktop-size, that is sometimes only true if your desktop is on the floor. While the X-CF Pro is indeed large (and heavy), it makes good use of the space to provide a generous build volume while still fitting on a desktop. I would be remiss if I did not mention all the kit that comes with the X-CF Pro. Qidi seems to have thought of everything you might need to get started and maintain the printer. A 16GB thumb drive, a nice set of tools and box of spare parts come standard. My system also came with a spool of filament. The included a dry box is a nice addition. Qidi provides an excellent slicer that has pre-configured settings that provide parameters specifically for printing carbon fiber and nylon filaments. Anyone familiar with Cura will feel right at home. The gcode can be transferred to the printer via LAN, Wi-Fi or USB thumb drive. Other slicers can be used if so desired. I also have the Qidi X-Max, which by the way is a great printer, but the X-CF Pro is designed specifically for Carbon Fiber filaments and has the following additional features not found on the X-Max: Larger touch screen with better contrast Customized slicer Upgraded main board Auto bed leveling (this is helpful if you move your printer frequently) Filament sensor (great for those long prints) A much better PEI build plate (I bought one of these for my X-Max and it is the best upgrade) Dual gear extruders instead of single gear extruders Linear rails on all three axis instead of bars, and screws instead of belts More robust XYZ steel frame Features not mentioned by the Amazon listing, but certainly worth considering when selecting a printer, include the ability pause and resume printing, optional auto-off at the end of print, a well-lit enclosure, quite operation, rock solid bed leveling, and a retractable filament spool holder for low-hydroscopic filaments such as PLA. There is also a chamber fan with a charcoal filter to help deal with some of the odor (it is not a substitute for ventilation when printing ABS or other filaments that release toxic fumes known as VOCs (Volatile Organic Carbon)). As with any product, there are always things I wish Qidi had done differently. On the X-Max the touch screen is at the top, but on the X-CF it is on the bottom, probably because it is bigger. I also wish the grab handles did not stick out from the sides as they increase the space required when printers are setup side-by-side. I also miss the internal spool holder found on the X-Max. Perhaps most importantly, there is a growing community of Qidi owners that you can count on to provide guidance and advice as needed. When combined with Qidiโs amazing support, there is no problem without a solution. Bottom line is that I am very happy with my decision to get the X-CF Pro and highly recommend it.

Excellent 3D Printing System!
Background: I've been using Qidi X-Pro machines since late 2017 with reasonable results, but they took much work to dial in, level, keep leveled and then I put glass beds in them for easier completed and failed part release. Then I had to tweak the bed temperature profiles to get parts to stick to the glass. I have since gone to higher end printers to get my print volume up, but each of those systems have drawbacks: Slow but very strong (Markforged) or fast but with less than ideal top surface quality (Stratasys). My XC-F Pro Experience using only the factory CF material that came with the machine: Unpackaging and assembly wasn't difficult. The videos on the included thumbdrive are very helpful in addition to the paper manual. I'm very impressed with the X-CF Pro in every way possible. The parts from it are much stronger than ABS-M30 from my Stratasys and very wear resistant. A 100% solid part takes about 5.5 hrs on the Qidi vs 90 minutes on the Stratasys (for comparison) but a 50% infill version is likely just as strong with about half the print time. I printed a part that my Markforged Mark Two usually does and it's very comparable in stiffness and strength. I have the extrusion multiplier tweaked to get 100.00% scale parts, so it's possible to get that without scaling the models in the slicer software. Surface quality is amazing - very comparable to the Mark Two. The bottom is a little rough from the PEI build surface, which works just like glass when it cools. Parts lift right off but are secure when it's hot during printing. Let the parts cool before pulling them off. It's worth the wait. The build plate is made of flexible steel with the PEI coating on top. It's held in place by magnets on the heated aluminum platform. The zigzag supports do a good job of coming off without much surface damage, if any. I'm still playing with different support types. The Qidi slicer is a modified version of Cura and I'm liking it better than Simplify 3D. It has many useful features that my higher end slicers have, like updating an STL in the build while using current settings and orientation. Jobs can be sent to the machine and even started via wifi or network cable. A Simplify 3D profile is included on the thumbdrive, but I did not try it. Qidi brand carbon fiber material is $150 per kg but it's serious. I plan to stay with it so I don't have to do any dialing in with other materials. It's all about what your time is worth. A package of desiccant is included for the material spool container, which is sealed by a wide rubber band. The BL Touch autolevel system is impressive. I've never played with it before now and it saves a lot of time. I had to do a manual level at first but the auto feature has been successful since then. I've been re-leveling every few days just to be sure, which is simple enough to do that I don't mind it. The print bed leveling knobs are secured by secondary wing nuts that ensure the knobs don't come unscrewed during system vibration. I have developed a level of confidence in this system where I can start a print and leave it to reliably do the job without coming back later to a pile of "spaghetti" on the print bed. The Z axis rail and jackscrews are well designed. The jackscrews are greased at the factory. A runout sensor is included but not installed at the factory. It was easily swapped for a blank pass-through plate and then plugged into a provided wire bundle. In conclusion, based on my experience with both lower and much higher end 3D printing systems, I wholeheartedly recommend the X-CF Pro and plan to get more of them. Buy with confidence! Pros: - Reasonable system cost. - Reasonable factory material cost considering its strength, stiffness and wear resistance performance. - Material type versatility. - Qidi Software is thorough on settings and easy to use. - Simplify 3D compatibility. - Reliability is comparable.to higher end systems. - Print bed clings when it needs to and then releases when it needs to. - BL Touch Auto Leveling. - Overall ease of setup, use and maintenance. - Runout sensor included. - Responsive email support from Qidi staff. Con (Justifiable): - Print speed is relatively slow with the CF material when printing 100% solid parts (expected), but the reliability at that speed is worth the wait for consistently good parts. Using lower infill will achieve faster prints but you'll have to determine the part strength when doing that.

The easiest to use printer, right out of the box!
This is my second QIDI printer. I bought an I-Fast last year. Donโt let the fact that QIDI Tech is a Chinese company, bother, or mislead you. QIDI Tech is one of the best companies I have ever worked with, in the U.S., or anywhere else! The reasons I selected this printer was: 1. Fully enclosed, environmentally controlled print environment. 2. Largest heated enclosed print volume, with these features, for the money. 3. Price. Nothing comes close that I am aware of. That holds true thru 2023! 4. Wide variety of print material capability. 5. Reasonably priced extruders. Comes with two types: One for printing lower melting point plastics up to 190-250C. An all metal head stainless nozzles 250-320C. 6. The highest print temperatures of any printer at this price point, with these features. 7. Very good software with regular updates and improvements. 8. Quality engineered, reliable, and a machine I can service myself. 9. Great support for products. (They live on the other side of the planet, so you have to allow for that when working with support.) If you can wait 12hrs it is worth it. 10. The automatic bed leveling is outstanding. Samples 20 points, like a CNC machine! 11. The screw drive for the bed is robust and made for continuous use, which is what it will get. I am retired from a career in information technology, machining, engineering, and technical support. This is my second QIDI printer. If you think you know of someone that has a better printer that does what this one does for $2000 or less, I would like to know. Show us, instead of leaving a bad revue. I have been 3D printing for several years now, and I now have two QIDI printers. Support is superb and so is the CF Pro! --March 2022โ October-2023- I have printed 100's of prints. I had 1 mainboard failure, 1 screen failure, and ribbon cable replacement. Warranty covered everything, and installation was not difficult. QIDI support will send a "how to" video that explains the procedure visually. No verbal descriptions required! The leveling sensor overheats, and will not work long, without modification. Support has a fix for that. I noticed the price of this printer has dropped, which is even better. I really like my CF-Pro and have used it nearly every day since 3-22.

Great printer, versatile and fast. Superior Customer Service!
The printer arrived in a package that was designed to protect the printer from any shipping damage. It even had reinforced corners to protect the unit from getting crushed during shipment. The new X-CF Pro has lots of print space (300X250X300mm), and a much easier to read display console. It also has a built in ethernet port, plus WIFI, and direct print from the jump drive. It has the ability to stop a print and resume. My first print I interrupted the print to see how well it recovered and you could not tell where it stopped and restarted. It also has a "Filament Out Switch" so you don't have to worry about long prints running out of product. The printer was easy to set up and there were plenty of videos on the jump drive to assist you. Slicer software included and is easy to navigate. The high temperature extruder allows you to print polycarbonate with carbon fiber so you can make high quality strong parts. The attached picture is polycarbonate carbon fiber and was stopped in the middle of the print. So far this is a great printer! And the support from Qidi is stellar! I just added another exceptional print. Ran into an issue with the printer. I contacted Customer Support and they resolved the issue within a day. The only delay was due to our time zone difference. I have worked in Support all my life and their Customer Support is some of the best I have ever worked with!

Solid design but concerning issues
After using this printer for a while: know the manufacturer. If you are considering only one of these: Maybe. If you are considering 5 of these then the offer is way more tempting. Overall the design and frame construction is solid and definitely what I was looking for. Unfortunately, there are several things that make this printer a frustrating purchase: 1. assembly quality. For the high temperature hot end I've found a few assembly issues. Broken wires, a crushed thermocouple, oddly loose screws. EDIT: I've received a replacement. Purchased myself cause my dumb self broke the original. The replacement is a slightly different design and decidedly better! 2. software is not reliable. Which is weird. I thought this was based on Cura but is somehow a worse experience. Fortunately, this can be replaced with stock Cura 5 and a third party plugin for Wifi control. Which is somewhat better than the OOB experience. EDIT: Still rocking Cura 5 and third party plugin. Works great. 3. replacement parts are.... non existent? They have an ebay store with unclear listings. I attempted to contact support for replacement parts. After literally 8 emails trying to get them to send me a specific part I gave up and ordered more than I needed. EDIT: Still a challenge to find replacement parts. That said, I've determined 3rd party replacements for a lot of stuff. 4. The damn ribbon cable. I'd buy an extra if I could (can't locate a replacement?). Finicky but still works so fine I guess? 5. Assembly quality. Assembly quality. Both the hot ends need fixes and replacement parts. due to bad assembly by Qidi. Both of the them. Very frustrating. EDIT: Both were replaced with better designs. Was I using an older model? No idea. After a year or so and much abuse: Still going strong. I amend my review with a solid 4 stars. Not perfect but good and I would buy from Qidi again.

Wow! What a printer!
This thing is a beast. It is packaged very well and arrived without any damage or missing parts. QIDI takes great care to packing and attention to detail. Unboxing is straight forward and the process is in the book. Don't forget the two binder clips on the belts on each side though! there is a label warning about them. Setup is pretty easy but this thing is heavy so get help moving it! Also remember these printers travel a long way so there is a slight possibility that a cable can get loose. Any issue just contact QIDI and they WILL get back to you and resolve it. The printer comes with everything you will need except a roll of regular filament such as PLA. They do include a roll of PA12-CF for you to try out and include instructions. The printer does come with two extruder setups, one for the more exotic materials that the printer is advertised to run and a regular extruder for PLA and such. The BLTouch is only on the high temp one but can be transferred to the regular one if you want to. I opted to buy a second BLTouch for the regular extruder. Changing extruders is pretty easy and especially if you have done this on other printers. The rail system for the bed and extruder is stout/robust, like the printer, and should keep things nicely stable. It will need lubrication from time to time. Contact QIDI for any specifics on this. It is nice to have auto leveling. It does require you to "level" the bed then it takes over to fine tune it. A filament sensor is very nice to have also. So for my first prints I switched to the regular extruder setup and ran prints from the QIDI slicer and from S3D (Simplify 3D). I like to do PLA first to get accustomed to the printer, leveling etc. before going into the more complicated and pricier filaments! The PLA prints came out great as I would expect them to. Nylon will be next! Almost forgot to mention that this printer has a "dry" box for the filament that incorporates onto the printer to help keep filaments like nylon dry during the print. Great addition. All-in-all this is a great and solid printer. It is like a big brother to the very capable X-Max and has some nice and thought out upgrades. With it including two extruders this printer could be a one stop printing solution for regular filaments and your trickier high temp ones also.

Great product and fantastic back up service
Good build quality, very sturdy and QUIET! Being new to 3d printing, I had to learn about the material temps, so, quite a learning curve to achieve production goals. The thing I haven't had to spend much time learning is this awesome machine! It prints perfectly right out of the box whether it be carbon fibre or PLA, TPU, etc. Had one main issue with the Z axis driving the bed up, so I emailed them on Sunday here in Oz and hoped (like most callbacks) I'd get a response later in the week. Couldn't believe the after sales service actually contacted me within an hour or so ON SUNDAY!! They provided a solution (update the firmware for which they supplied the link) and was up and running within the hour and now running 24/7 without a problem. Very impressed! Very happy with this purchase.

Greate Machine, Excellent Support
The machine is great and work as expected, but the support is even better! 3D Printers require maintainance and troubleshooting, and their support respond all your emails with videos and explanations. They even chase you (in a good way) if you do not respond their emails, that shows really care with the customer! Also they promptly send any parts that needs replacement with no questions asked! just great, really recommend!
