What is the output file format? does it come with any software or its output is a txt file?

It simulates a keyboard, and will output whatever information it reads as if someone was typing actual keys. Does not require a driver.

Will this work on a sam4s cash register? my register has a usb plug but i'm not sure if the software is compatible or if i can program it....

I can’t give a 100% guarantee, but I believe it should. There’s not actually software for this scanner. You plug the usb dongle into your device and then activate the scanner. It should work right out of the box. When it comes to configuring settings, I believe there is a small booklet that came with the scanner containing QR codes to change the settings. Personally, I use the .pdf manual which can be found on the manufacturers website. Hope this helps :)

What is the range of the scanner - can it be used 100 feet from base?

There is a mode where all the data is saved on the scanner so it does not need the base until you want to download all the data you scanned. This means you can be an infinite distance from the base. If you want the scanned data to go to your computer real time then it uses Blue Tooth. The range depends on the version of Blue Tooth which can range from 25 to 90 meters. That is 82 feet minimum but can be as low as 30 feet if the signal has to go through walls.

What is the minimum barcode size?

I don't know but I have been about to read the barcodes of over 100 products so far with not issue.

Works OK so far!

Important to know but is not stated in the manual: 1. USB dongle should be placed in the Tera base unit - NOT directly to the computer. 2. Majority of the functions are OFF. You have to scan the barcode in the manual to turn it ON. Others: 1. Battery goes to 3/4 after a few scans. Not a deal breaker for me as I do not use the scanner for long periods, but could be for others. 2. Wireless scanner limitation/disconnect/reconnect when I am 5 (open design but filled) rolling cabinets away.
