These are great
I'm a fan of these so I'm biased. I think they're great. easy to get a bit dirty though. they lay flat, the paper quality is nice. they're good with fountain pens and pencils. I'll honestly buy these for any class I have to take i the future. the A5 size is perfect because it makes you keep your notes concise and clean and you dont have a ton of wasted space on each page so the material is nice and dense when you try and study. I like to buy the blank paper version. Personally have grown to dislike lined paper unless its graphed like calculation pads or engineering notebooks but blank is my favorite. The cream paper looks great too. Some will say the paper is see through and that's totally true. it's not transparent but just like reading a book you can see the print on the back side. I thought that would bother me, and it did at first but you get used to it and all of the pros out weigh that. Also the hard card stock for the cover and back are thick enough you can paint with water colors if you're into that. I've done it and it came out great. also I havent found another notebook like this one so if you're interested in the uniqueness then give it a try, or try the A4 size (at the time if this review, amazon doesnt carry the blank A4 model).

Super nice!
Super nice, smooth paper, great for fountain pen (or any pen, really).

Good for just sketching
I use just regular HB lead to do sketches and at most a tombow fudenosuke for ✨contrast✨ Overall it’s as expected the tombow shows up a bit on the other side of the paper. Of course buying a midori means the cover gets dirty easily but if you have any type of A5 cover then just slap it on to this and you’ll be fine. The paper itself feels really smooth and there’s little to no tooth.Edit: I’m almost done with the notebook I originally bought when I made the review but the notebook is so nice (I bought another one for my 2nd sketchbook) but I’ve used paintmarkers, water colour, pencilcrayons, and water based markers (I don’t own any alcohol based ones sorry). None of them have bleed through or maybe a little bit ghosting but overall would recommend and continue using these for sketchbooks.

Great for sketching
Bought it for drawing. There is a little shadowing on the back but it doesn’t bother me. I love the sizes and the ability to add a cover. I will continue to use these!

Great for fountain pens and water colors
I got this specifically to draw a graphic novel. I've used the A6 size before for journals and other projects and I love these notebooks for all art related projects. I got the A5 size because that's the size that is closest to what I'll be publishing the final product and it not only handles fountain pen ink without the slightest signs of bleed but it can also take a lot of water color without bleeding at all. The subsequent page did get a little wavy but soon returned to a mostly flat state after drying and the page I inked then did a watercolor wash over also curled but it wasn't anything a few hours with the book closed couldn't fix. These are great for journaling, drawing, etc. For me, they are Project notebooks. They have a vibe to them that invites you to use them for whatever artistic endeavor you choose whether it's writing an album or drawing a comic or just taking notes. These are some of the best notebooks ever made.

Great for price
I am in love with the midori notebooks. I bought the Midori MD Cotton after seeing a review for it on youtube. I used copic, pencil, and colored pencils on it. It does not take any water well. The pages are thin, and you will be able to see through the pages. I use a black piece of cardstock behind each page so i dont get distracted by any ghosting. The presentation of this is amazing. it arrived a few days after order, in a nice plastic, and the notebook is covered in a translucent paper sleeve. I use them to test my pens for writing, and as a sketchbook. the paper has just enough tooth for colored pencils to come out well. I am on my 3rd Midori sketchbook since 2018, and it is something i would recommend to everyone. the texture of the paper just urges you to create.

It came in great!
I know there is no strudy cover.⚠️ This is a REPLACEMENT inner pages type product. ⚠️With that being said. The pages looked good. No bends. Great job. My writing thanks you🫡❤️I do wish there were more images explaining in English how you need the protective cover SOLD SEPARATE when I was first buying these. Just some feedback. 👍

Journals exceeded expectations
The Journals were everything as described and more. The paper is a rich ivory cream and I have the smoothest writing experience with a Pelikan 140.
