Don’t know about the saw. It’s a gift

Note that this is their "timber saw", not their "NATA tool". I don't know why the listing is calling it the NATA. That one is like an angled machete. This is just a curved one-handed saw. I've been using this timber/pruning saw for about a month now, and I'm really impressed with its versatility and performance. It's become my go-to tool for clearing brush and pruning branches. I first saw the Barebones brand in a little store. They were selling a few things by them including their hori-hori knife (Japanese for diggy-diggy) and scissors and I've been wanting their products ever since. I love how they look. The blade of this timber saw is sharp and durable, made from high-quality Japanese steel that holds an edge remarkably well. The walnut handle is not only beautiful but also comfortable to grip, even during extended use. It feels solid and well-balanced in my hand. The included sheath is a nice touch, providing safe and convenient storage and transport. It's easy to attach to my belt, so I can keep the saw readily accessible while working in the yard or out in the woods. This timber saw is well-made, performs exceptionally well, and is a joy to use. I do a lot of brush and tree pruning, and regularly deal with branches that are too large for lopping shears and too small to deserve a chainsaw. The Japanese-inspired Barebones Folding Timber Saw offered through Amazon Vine looked liked a good solution for my needs. The saw and its heavy scabbard were packed in a simple cardboard holder. The biggest surprise was that while Barebones describes it as "folding" the saw is anything but that. The 10 inch blade is substantial yet still flexible, and keenly sharp. A comfortable and well-designed walnut handle covers the full-tang, and the tough polyester scabbard protects both the saw and user. In the field, the saw worked very well in fresh softwood and hardwood, cutting quickly and leaving a smooth surface. It was okay but not great for cutting hard dry branches. In other words, the Barebones saw will stay in my gardening equipment, not my firewood harvesting kit. My only caveats revolve around cost. The Barebones saw is near the top of the price range for similar saws, and considerably more expensive than folding saws. Countering those issues are the overall quality of design, materials and performance the Barebones Timber Saw offers. To me, those value points make Barebones well worth the cost.

The looks and workmanship on this saw are excellent. It’s sharp, the handle fits my hand nicely, and the sheath is rugged and well made. The belt clip has a sewn on strap that a belt can be run through and a clip that can be easily attached and removed from a belt or strap. There is also a leather strap around the sheath that allows the saw to be carried horizontally. There is also a thick plastic strip on the cutting side of the sheath to prevent damage from the saw teeth. The handle is held into place with two removable Chicago screws and a brass lined lanyard hole for those who may want to add a wrist strap or decorative lanyard. I haven’t actually used the saw yet but I believe this saw will function well. It will make a nice addition I my field pack.

It's curved blade has very sharp teeth and it makes very short work of cutting through limbs and roots. The curved blade makes it perfect for cutting in tight spaces and provides clean cuts that are easy to seal with pruning sealer. It's a very sturdy and durable saw with a very comfortable handle that allows for a good grip. It comes with a very nice scabbard for protecting the blade during storage. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality and performance of the Barebones Timber Saw and consider it an outstanding value!

Folding? Corded electric? Japanese?, ehhh... is this even the right product? It's very easy on electricity at least, unless you cut an electric cord with it. I suppose it can be folded, if you stick it in a vice. I haven't heard a word out of this saw so I really can't tell what language or nationality it might be. What about this is supposed to make this a Japanese type pruning saw? As far as I can tell it is just a basic non folding pruning saw. The saw itself works well enough on cutting limbs, primarily small cedar limbs in my case, but beyond that there is nothing special here. It comes with a belt sheath that has been a bit cumbersome to use as it can be a challenge to line the saw blade up to put it back in the sheath. The walnut handle is nice and comfortable. I will deffinitely give it that. As for the price, I was expecting something different than our cheap folding pruning saws and took a chance on this, but I get just as much use out of our cheap pruning saws. I am hoping that the product page is simply for an unknown product that I would have liked to have recieved, but this is just a saw, it has good weight with a little heft, and a good handle. I really cannot find anything to justify the price.

握り具合最高！ 替刃がほしい

物自体は大変良かったのですが、 ブレードの部分の黒い塗装が擦れて剥がれてるような状態 (最初からこういう物なのかな？) だったので、 シースナイフ、ジャパニーズナタアックスのような真っ黒いブレードを期待していたので、そこだけほんの僅かに残念でした。 使っていけば見た目は一緒になるのでそこまで気にはならないですが😅 物自体はカッコいいのでそこまで問題なし！
