Perfect for Those with Fragrance Allergies, ACD & Eczema
I have a fragrance contact allergy to linalool which means that I cannot use anything with natural or artificial fragrance. No botanical oils or extracts at all. In addition, certain chemicals are considered cross reactors and therefore I have to avoid those as well. Add to that my vitamin E (tocopherol) contact allergy and finding a deodorant that is safe for me and actually works is near impossible. I couldn't use the original unscented cream stick deodorant because while labeled unscented, it's not actually considered fragrance free due to the aloe leaf juice, isoamyl laurate, lauryl alcohol, sodium benzoate and cocoa butter. Plus it has vitamin E in it. I use the SkinSafe app to find products that are safe for me per my Mayo Clinic dermatologist. I have tried every safe deodorant and none have worked. Some caused rash despite saying they are safe, but most just don't work. They may for a couple hours then they stop. Another thing to consider is will it leave white marks or stain clothing (oil stains can be really hard to remove). The Lume Unscented/fragrance free solid deodorant recently appeared on my safe list and I jumped to try it. First I want to address the smell because I see people complaining about it smelling like all kinds of weird things such as vinegar, mildew, urine, etc. THIS PRODUCT SMELLS NOTHING LIKE ANY OF THOSE THINGS! Please do not be scared off by those reviews. I have a keen sense of smell since I live a fragrance free life so nothing is dulling my senses. The unscented solid has a light smell which is a result of the raw ingredients in it. The whole point in making a product that is free of scents (including masking fragrances) is to have a product free of both natural and artificial fragrance. When you do that, the natural smells of the ingredients will come through, though they are never strong and don't really linger. This product's ingredients give it a smell that is like a mix of citronella and calamine but not as strong as either one. I can smell it if I put my nose up to it or if I sniff my armpits within an hour of application, but that's it, and after that it just fades away. It is not a bad or offensive smell (much better than BO) even if it's not a scent someone with the luxury of using fragrance would choose. For people like me, it's beautiful because it's safe. I don't get to choose what anything smells like. My conditioner smells like cooking oil, my soap smells like glycerin and and my hair gel smells like plastic and vinegar. I couldn't care less. All that matters to me is that it is safe and will not cause terrible, itchy, oozing rashes that take months and a lot of prescriptions to clear, and that it serves it's purpose. I'm grateful to Lume for creating a product for me and the millions of people like me. On to performance! Day one I applied only 1-2 swipes per arm as instructed but I did start to smell some faint BO after a couple of hours in the 106 degree AZ heat. The next day I washed it off and applied 3 swipes per arm. I went all day without smelling anything. When I got up the next day I could smell light BO if I put my nose to my armpit which is fine. It says it eliminates odor all day (that's one day) and controls odor for 72 hours (meaning it will lessen the odor on days 2 & 3 but not eliminate it) so it did what it said it would do. I've been using it for two weeks now and have not had any adverse reactions. I will update if I do. I am happy that it works and I haven't seen marks on my clothes, it feels nice and smooth going on and doesn't feel wet or sticky after it rubs in. I highly recommend it if you truly need a product free of artificial and natural fragrance.

Super long lasting. Works for days
Best deodorant I have found. I was looking for a natural deodorant. I got on to AI and asked what are some natural ways to combat odor. One that AI highly recomended was to raise the acidity of the armpit to prevent the bacteria from growing. The bacteria is what causes the smell. I bought a stick and used it per the instructions. It worked flawlessly, and it sustained the odor protection well over a day. I am very pleased with the results.

Love Lume but not the powder scent
This body deodorant does keep you dry all day but it was the scent I didn't like. I normally buy the unscented one so I guess I need to go back to the unscented. I love Lume because it keeps me nice and fresh all day.

Menopause armpit smell be gone!
Attention ladies suffering from changes in your usual smell thanks to perimenopausal and menopausal hormone changes!! Because the chin hair wasn’t bad enough! The story goes like this…..I’m getting in bed and I’m moving the sheets around etc getting comfy and I smell this smell…like the Lumie lady says lol! Anyway I look at my husband whom I totally know is the culprit and ask if he forgot his deodorant to which he replies, “NO”. Hmmmm could it be me?? No way but I take a sniff anyway and to my surprise, IT WAS MY PITS!!! Horrified! I had never had that smell before. Thanks Mother Nature! This went on every night for a week or two. The deodorant I had used literally my whole adult life was failing my hormonally imbalanced armpits! A search for a new deodorant began. Not only did I need to eliminate that smell, I also wanted to kick the aluminum can out of my deodorant, so I went on a search for something different. I tried Schmidt’s with Charcoal and nope, still stinky, albeit less but still stinky. Then I decided to try Lumie after seeing the “smell that smell” lady over and over on social media. Let me tell you, it worked immediately and for the full 72 hours like she claims! No more Mother Nature smelly pits for me!! I love it! I have been using it for over a month now with no mind boggling odors emanating from myself! Here are my two warnings about the product. 1) it burns if you put it on right after you’ve shaved your armpits and 2) not everyone’s skin can handle it. I bought it for my hubby too and it burned him, made his skin itch and it eventually peeled. So just beware of those things. Otherwise, I am super pleased and no longer have smelly armpits to try to blame on my innocent hubby!

It works!
I swear by Lume. The only natural type of deodorant that WORKS. So glad I tried this.

Don’t Buy This if you don’t like being drenched in cheap smelling perfume.
At the price of nearly $18 for a stick of deodorant, not being able to find an unscented version on Amazon (I have since been able to find single sticks of unscented, and am not sure why I couldn’t find them when I made the mistake of ordering this), I thought at least that the smell would not be cloyingly overpowering, because that’s cheap perfume products, right? Wrong. This stuff is so strong smelling (in a horrible, perfumey way), I can’t imagine what my body might smell like underneath it. How will I know if it works? I prefer my natural body odor to this overwhelmingly strong perfume that makes me literally gag. I hope I can sleep tonight, and am wondering if I should chalk it up to horrible experience and wash it of. I’ve already had it on my body a couple of hours and I can’t smell anything else! It’s starting to nauseate me. I even made a pot of chai tonight, and I can barely smell THAT with this ever-present, cheap perfume smell, that resists nasal fatigue. I’ve already trying dabbing straight essential oil blends that I like on my nose itself, and I have nasal fatigue to THOSE and can only smell this horrible, horrible strong perfume. My God, who would want to smell like this?! I should have known better and just left well enough alone since I couldn’t find a single stick of unscented to try. My husband suggested spraying my homemade bug spray (5 essential oils in water) under my arms to try to mask it, as well as a Thieves Oil spray—because peppermint, citronella and clove would overpower this cucumber perfume, right? Wrong. I can’t smell them at all now, just this sickening cloying perfume! At this point, I really don’t even care if it works, because I would rather smell my own body odor than smell like a cheap slut drenched in scent! After writing the above, I wet a washcloth, put soap on it, and tried to scrub it off. I can’t get rid of it! The washcloth smells terrible now, and so do I. I just took a shower before putting this stuff on, or I would take another! I hope I can get rid of the smell swimming tomorrow. I thought about trying the unscented instead (now that I found it finally on Amazon), but this was such a bad experience, I don’t want to take the risk that the unscented might still smell terrible, too, because I shouldn’t have splurged so much money on a tube of deodorant that makes me hate the way I smell—a friend recommended this to me, and she’s about to get a piece of my mind. Maybe she’ll take this tube, since obviously I can’t return it.

Gooey? Creamy? Not Solid.
I don't know if the heat from delivery changed my product or not. But the deodorant was stuck to the top little thing you remove before you use a new deodorant (not the lid). I managed to scrape that off and put it somewhat back together. But man this stuff is creamy. Like, it seems like it needs to dry out some. I attempted to 'swipe' it on my armpit and a lot came off- much more than a pea-shaped size and it was just gooey. Basically the consistency was a little thicker than the stuff that comes out of the tube. Again, maybe the heat from it being delivered did something to it, I don't know, but it does seem extremely creamy for being a solid stick. As far as smell goes. Well initially it smells LOTS better than the tube. No old cheese/foot funk smell. Then you put it on and wear it for a little and the smell starts to appear. I got a bit overwhelmed by the odor so I quickly scrubbed my pits clean. I plan on letting the deodorant sit out for a bit without a lid to see if it might solidify a bit more and maybe that will help. But as it stands- there is still some of the 'funk' smell that the normal unscented deodorant in the tube has. Not gonna lie though, if you can get through that smell, it DOES work. Like it eliminates that 'beef stew' odor for awhile. For me it only lasted 24 hours. But that is WAY better than Native or aluminum deos. It just smells so bad when you first put it on. Like Bog of Eternal Stench smell. Even the coconut smells bad. I learned with the tube, put it on, then leave your bits that it was applied to open to the air for a little while so they can air out. If you don't do this, you will carry that scent for hours.

Surprisingly effective odor blocker
I can't really use Axe or Old Spice deodorants as they now give me a rash (even though I've used them for years in the past with no issues). So far Dove has been my go to for the last few years, I heard about Lume and decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised! No negative reaction on my apparently sensitive skin. Now it's not an antiperspirant, it won't keep you from sweating though it's a surprisingly effective deodorant. It doesn't need to mask the smell with a fragrance like other brands do, though it somehow keeps the sweat that does accumulate from being odorous. (You obviously still want to apply to clean under arms because if you're currently smelly the bacteria has already had a chance to cause the odor below the skins surface so it's not a replacement for a shower) But after application it does allows you to go much longer without offending others, I think it would be perfect for a camping trip for example. If you're known for having spicy underarms after exercising, give this a try. I now have no issues giving my significant other hugs as an exercise routine as long as she doesn't mind me being slick with sweat. I just wish it was a little cheaper but it's worth the premium.

Efficace mais pas facile à utiliser
Très efficace mais le parfum est trop fort et le tube n’est pas facile à utiliser à la longue car il faut régulièrement enlever les traces et dépôts qui se forment à la surface.

Does as advertised, bad smell gone
After trying many products, mind you i stay away from anything that has aluminum as ingredient, but all relatively safe natural products i tried, all did work but only for an hour or so. This deodarant really keeps me smelling fresh all day long. I used to reek of smelly armpits, like seriously bad. This smell is pleasant, not overpowering, just perfect, very happy and will buy again, A+++
