These work great on my aluminum extension ladder. The instructions call for them to be installed over the bottom ladder rung. In my case the rung extends out on both side of the ladder frame about 1/4”. They provide washer and tell you to stack washers under the mounting bracket where the bolts go thru to keep the bracket level and elevated off of the rung. The issue I had was it took four washers under each bolt, so a total of twenty washers per side to keep the bracket flush and just above the ladder rung. The problem is they only give you enough washer to do one side. I ended up using some nuts I had as spacers, which solved the problem easy enough. These extension are solid and very easy to adjust up and down. The castor swivel and are heavy duty, I think they will last. They will also screw completely off and the adjustment rods can be pushed up and out of the way if not needed, and shouldn’t interfere with the original feet. The only downside to having these installed is that now the ladder won’t stand on its edge without having it leaning up against something. Overall, I highly recommend these levelers to anyone needing extra safety for their ladder when on an uneven surface, they are an excellent value for the money and are built to last.

UPDATE: I returned the original set to amazon.com and requested replacement. The replacements also failed (slipping.) I reached out to the manufacturer, and they instructed me not to return to amazon.com and that they would send replacements. They were very prompt with the reply and replacements. But the replacements from the mfg have begun slipping, just like the original two. THREE STRIKES YOU'RE OUT! I was very pleased at first. They were reasonably easy to install on my aluminum extension ladder. Easy to use. They're very convenient for outdoor work where the ground isn't flat. But after a couple of weeks of use the leveler on one side would fail to lock. I think it's the locking plate edge that wears out. The shaft has a kind of cross hatch pattern that the locking plate edge goes into. It seems pretty iffy. There is also a little bit of rotational play in the locking plate that might contribute to the problem. I have a few more weeks b4 the return window closes. I plan to do some more examination and testing, contact mfg. If I can correct I'll update this review. First impression however, unreliable and unsafe. I don't recommend.

I was very impressed with the quality of this product--the design is well thought out and easy to use. As can be seen in the photo, it is ideal for uneven terrain, and might even work on stairs if the tread width is sufficient. The parts are very sturdy, as they should be for safe use on an extension ladder. The cam-type locking plate makes adjustment very straightforward. I would have given this five stars if the installation had been easier. My ladder rails are channels (as opposed to tubes), so the screws were too long and had to be cut off to eliminate the potential for cuts. The mounting holes were so close to the pole that getting tools (and especially sockets) in to make for a quick install was difficult. A couple of minor design/packaging corrections would make this set a real winner: 1) Widen the bracket slightly so that the mounting holes are clear of the pole, and 2) Provide a second set of shorter screws for applications where the ladder rails are channels, not tubes. The supplied wrenches were useful but most DIYers would have better suited tools.

Great ladder leveler for inclined floor or uneven surfaces. Easy to install. Very strong and easy to use. Can be adapted to wide foldable ladders with additional parts. Made of strong steel. Adds some weight to the ladder, but makes it much safer. Highly recommended.

Buying my 3rd pair now. 1 on my 24ft. And 1 on my 16. I use them even on roofs. Very well made. Just as good as the orange ones. I will say, while install, do not over tighten. If you do, they will be too stiff to use. Just loosen if so. I wouldn't trust them on over 28ft ladder. Haven't tried, but my trust ends at the 24ft

The picture depicts the ladder at the end of the stairs. In this instance, it works very well. However, as you move up the stairs, the ladder will cross two or three stairs, and the length of the extension is in adequate. This forces you to put a bunch of wooden blocks underneath to equal it out, which sort of defeats the entire purpose. It works but with duct tape and Band-Aids.

You can pay much more for ladder levelers but this one works great at a much lower price. Rubber pads remove easily. Use on several multi ladders with no problems.

Ik kan nu terug mijn ladder horizontaal plaatsen tussen 2 hagen met ongelijke grondniveau. Telkens ik de ladder 1 m moet verschuiven, om de haag verder te snoeien, heb ik een ander grondniveau. Ik moet de ladder telkens gemakkelijk kunnen aanpassen. Ik verschuif de ladder en pas het met een kleine ingreep de ladder heel gemakkelijk aan. Voor mij is dit een prachtige oplossing om stabiel mijn ladder te kunnen plaatsen. 200% tevreden.

Appears to be a robust product. Ladders vary in construction, so the ladder leveller has to be adapted to your ladder. It seems to operate very well at this stage. Time will tell if it stands up to regular use. Very pleased so far.

Feel quite sturdy..but you really do need a barrow ladder to fit on the stairs
