Wow! This is a must if you like tofu soup and you like your food hot. This Korean Stone Bowl keeps your food very hot while you eat as the heat is retained in the pot. I had never seen these pots before but l cannot recommend highly enough.Well made and very durable with a tray included this arrived promptly and well packaged. Great for tofu soup. A five star product.

I'm happy with the pot, but disappointed that the lid is not the same material as the pot. Will see what happens when I use the set. Also all information on leaflet is in mandarin.

I ordered this specifically for making the delicious Korean bibinbap: a crispy-based rice dish with vegetables (lots of on-line videos to show how), but it's much more versatile than just that.Basically, this is a unlidded ceramic stewpot with a plastic (the listing says bakelite but that's most unlikely) tray to sit it on. It is NOT a real 'dolsot', which is made of stone. The listing describes this as a 'korean stone bowl with lid' but it's not stone and there is no lid (hence only three stars). The lack of a lid is a drawback,making the pot much less useful, although a plate or foil can be used to cover it when needed. The tray is for sitting the hot dish on, like a trivet, but is not suitable for use in the oven itself.Before use, I soaked the pot in warm soapy water and washed it out thoroughly. I didn't 'cure' it because as it's ceramic I thought it unnecessary.I tested it out by making a cooked eggy sweetened rice pudding with crispy base that's a family favourite - like a sweet bibimbap with fruit instead of vegetables and flavoured with pandan. It worked perfectly, and while the tray isn't particularly attractive, it worked well as a trivet.Overall, the pot itself is a nice earthernware pot, but misdescribed in the listing. It's also higher priced than other apparently identical products. Ok, but if I were buying another, it probably wouldn't be this one.

The quality is thick and heavy slowly simmer over medium heat.The tastes extremely good!
