Beautiful design for an effective tool
I’m so pleased with this axe, it’s a huge improvement on my ordinary chopping axe. A gentle stroke on the right spot and the logs split asunder. It doesn’t get stuck in slightly damp wood as an ordinary axe does. Easy to use even for a septuagenarian such as myself. A good buy.

Strong and sharp
I might be a little lady but I know how to swing an axe! I've recently felled a honey skyline (last season) and the smaller branches are now ready for burning. A lot of them are quite thick and need splitting first so needed a decent axe to make light work. I've always been old fashioned and gone with wooden handles but recently had a good experience with a fibre glass sledge hammer so opted for the same. This cut through like butter. It has a good weight to it so you get a nice clean swing. No concerns at all of the head leaving the handle. It's angles are nice so you can remove it from the chopping block with ease. The guard is a nice touch. It's been used quite a lot now and still going strong, no need to use the whetsone yet. I've even allowed my son (he's a grown up!!) use of it (I'm usually quite protective of my tools) this is a boy who struggles to mow the lawn but he managed to spilt logs quite easily. In my book that says it all!!! He wasn't able to figure out how to get the guard on though. Honestly!

Weight and balance
Great little hatchet, well balanced and the weight is perfect. No, it’s not an estwing but it’s half the price and chops really well. How strong the handle is, time will tell. A happy purchase though.

Nice robust axe to split logs and for kindling
The axe feels robust and well made. It is sharp enough to split logs (about 40cm long) down to a smaller size and for finer splitting to make kindling. I personally would prefer the handle to be a bit shorter - I'm female of slim build and not particularly strong and I found it just a little unwieldy - however with practice I've got used to it.

Similar look but not a substitue for Fiskars
The Fiskars axes are suberb but have recently been hard to get hold of on Amazon. This axe was on offer when I bought it, and still more than some other offerings at this size. This axe is reasonable. It comes with two cases - a full head case, and an optional blade shield to make it less bulky to transport. The handle is comfortable and well formed. However don't buy it thinking it's the same as the more expensive brand. Pictures show, the quality and finish of the steel is significantly below that of the competitior. These two axes were bought within a week of each other and have seen similar use. While the Lexivon has started to rust, and the surface came pitted (disguised under black paint which has quickly abraded) the Fiskars looks next to new still and feels almost non-stick. I can live with an axe which needs the rust removing periodically. What lets this product down however is the lack of attention to detail on the cutting edge. You can see the care which has been taken in applying the cutting edge on the Fiskars, with uneveness on the Lexivon blatant just after light sharpening. The second photo shows top down views of the Fiskars against the Lexivon. The Lexivon has clearly been sharpened to different angles on each side and the cutting point is off centre. This can be corrected over time, but given that this is the most important part of the axe, it really should have been the main focus. Overall, it's fit for purpose - light use and quickly splitting kindling. But I do with I'd looked around some more and spent the extra to get the Fiskars.

Careful with this axe, Eugene!
Great axe! Love it! Splits logs like a knife through butter. Great for kindling, makes the job virtually effortless. Also feel ready for the zombie apocalypse now 😁

Ligt goed in de hand en doet zijn werk uitstekend. Heb diverse bijlen in mijn bezit maar voor de prijs is het echt een aanrader.

great for splitting logs for firewood, my seasonal camping usage works just fine.
LEXIVON V28s Splitting Axe, 28-Inch Lightweight Fiber-Glass Composite Handle & Ergonomic TPR Grip | Protective Carrying Sheath Included (LX-V28s) This is an ideal size axe for camping with my family. I had a smaller hachet but its just too small and not enough heft to split firelogs. This one did the trick. I dont split logs often... just maybe 3-4 times a year so i didnt want to invest in an overly expensive axe. This one seemed to be cost effective and have enough heft to easily split firelogs when we go camping. Rear side useful to hammer down tent pegs too. Comes with a reusable plastic blade sheath to protect your space when storing. I have minimal effort to split fire logs into smaller chunks and then down to kindling chunks. So far so good -- despite the fact that there is one review before me that showed a picture of the axe handle breaking (that is terrible) --- but for my seasonal camping-use, this serves us just fine.
