The little nodes are on both sides and I would have preferred them just on one side. You kind of need a rice spoon like this if you plan on removing plain rice from cast iron pots. The nodes are useful for making sushi rice, but not for regular rice scooping. Issue being, is that the nodes are a tiny bit too raised and rice gets caught in-between. Nothing that stopped me from keeping the product though.

Bought this to replace the stock plastic rice scoop that comes with the rice cooker. Quality product that feels great in hand and rice doesn't stick to it.

Love this brand! The Staub rice spoon didn't disappoint. It has a nice texture that helps keep the rice from sticking to the spoon. It is comfortable to hold as well.
