Witness the beginning of Evil. Raccoon City, which was once a booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, is now a dying Midwestern town. The company?s exodus left the city a wasteland?with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night. Review: Surprisingly Great! - My opinion of this movie isn't exactly the popular opinion but I really loved it! In Hollywood they always change things it's to be expected. This movie was clearly made with passion for the series and is the only RE movie that actually feels like a horror movie. One of the things I found so cool is that most of the actors were huge fans of the games as pointed out in the behind the scenes segments in the special features. My only complaint really is if they wanted to combine 2 games into 1 movie it should have been 2/3 since they take place on the same night. No Mr. X but Birkin was awesome when he came back in the final showdown. The atmosphere of this movie nails it with the rain, taking place at night and the score. I'm highly considering getting the vinyl soundtrack, very good. With Leon they really wanted to emphasize that this was his first day on the job and he was totally a Rookie. At first it was a little annoying but asI adjusted and saw it from that standpoint I really enjoyed it. I can whole heartedly recommend this movie. Just remember it's never going to be exactly what you want but if you can put that aside you have a really good Resident Evil horror movie! Review: Horror - Good Movie to watch

Okay, so I hope I don't get too wordy
1) This actually follows the games. RE1+2 in one movie, it's pretty dope. There's of course the iconic scene from RE1 when they come across the first zombie and it looks back. It's nothing like those abominations that came out a while back (to be fair, if those movies were named something else, they'd be pretty cool). 2) The acting seems kinda hammy or overdone in some cases, but you're not likely getting A-listers on this project. Regardless, the cast was well selected as the actors played their characters very well. I bet there are gonna be some nutjobs in here saying that Jill is white in the games, so she should be white in this movie. Well, much to everyone's surprise, she was just fine and her skin color didn't factor into anything at all the entire movie (spoiler alert: no one was surprised). 3) There is a ton of fan service in this but a few creative liberties as well. I know I talked about this in point 1, but it's worth making it separate I guess. So, in RE2 Leon is just arriving to Racoon City when the poo hits the fan; that's how Leon meets Claire. This is not a spoiler but is a movie detail: Leon is already in the RPD when the movie picks up, so there's some "cheeky banter" between him and the other characters about this. There is also some interesting backstory to the Redfields that I don't remember coming across in any game I've played, but admittedly I didn't play Code Veronica so it may have been there? Also, Claire's arrival to the city is not what you'll remember. The movie uses the change to establish some plot points though. It could be worse, she could have psychic powers or be controlled by a satellite. 4) The Birkins were a great call-back to Claire B in RE2. The daughter doesn't play as big of a role in Claire's segments of the movie though, like in RE2. I guess this could have been in point 3. Whatever. 5) The movie is a bit dark, as in literally dark so you may need to adjust the brightness to see a little better.

Only for the most hardcore of Resident Evil fans > otherwise 2 stars
Welllll... I don't write a ton of reviews, but I felt somewhat strongly about this one, as I am a fan of the games. SPOILERS AHEAD: This movie was a really bad attempt at being a "fan-service" Resident Evil movie. It very loosely combines the first 2 games with a lot of the same characters, and it assumes the first 2 games were happening at the same time. It has all the main characters form the games, although they usually don't present anything like they do in the games... And herein lies the biggest problem with the movie, as these characters are super important to fans of the game series. They made Leon the laughingstock, and the actor doesn't look anything like the actual character in the game - AT ALL. He is definitely the worst casted character. Claire is much rougher and more unrealistic than her videogame counterpart, and the actress does not look like her either (she seems much older in the film). Jill's character seemed like a total afterthought, and nope, she doesn't look anything like the character either. Jill was the cheesiest character second to poor Leon. And Chris at least looks like Chris, but he wasn't in the movie much. Actually, none of these characters were in the movie very much. They were not fleshed out at all. I agree the movie could have used an extra 30 minutes to flesh everything out a bit. Wesker, Birkin, and Chief Irons were here too, although it didn't feel like they were there much. Everything just felt like an afterthought. And did I mention the acting in as of itself was pretty terrible? This feels like B movie cheese throughout, although the cinematography was decent for a movie like this. You have the mansion and police station from the first 2 games. I did appreciate the models for the police station, although it was just a small tidbit in the film. There were some easter eggs here for fans of the games, unlike with the Milla Jovovich movies. The zombies were hit and miss. And the licker was such a tease, as he was only in the movie for like 20 seconds. 1 star - because you have to at least give everything 1 star... 2 stars - because the movie is at least watchable... 3 stars - because fans of the game will appreciate a few things about the film... But if you're not a fan of the game, I would say this is a 2 star movie.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. You have to see it!!!
I like horror movies. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City went beyond my expectations!!! It was quick pasted and it had a good story line. I found myself rooting for the good people. It was really different than I expected. A big "Hara" for the people that put together this movie. 🤩💯💥
