I'm not sure that this tape will do the trick for you. This tape has to overlap on itself to work. I used it to wrap connections. You need to overlap about 50%. The tape has no glue that you can feel to the touch. It gets its bound when the tape is stretched and than after a several days the tape will become infused to itself as if it were one piece of tape. Hope this helps you out. I can't see how you could wrap it around the mouse. Good luck.

Is the item weight really 11.44 pounds?

No, it weights about the same as an average roll of masking tape.

I agree with previous commenters that the shelf life is impressive. I've had a roll for 15-20 yrs. (I don't waste it on insignificant stuff.) But I used about 10" yesterday to repair the outer sheath of an electrical cord and it worked just as well as day 1.

Would this work on the roof of an suv to prevent scratching when carrying loads on roof?

I doubt it is sticky enough to hold to a roof. It is designed to be stretched over itself on a wire
