Neewer 77mm Variable ND Filter Review
The Neewer 77mm Variable ND Filter is a great budget-friendly option for photographers and videographers who want more creative control over their shots. It’s easy to use—just twist to adjust—and it gives you the flexibility to shoot wide open in bright conditions without blowing out highlights. Perfect for video work, long exposures, and balancing exposure when shooting outdoors. The build quality feels sturdy, and the rotation is smooth without being too loose. I was impressed with how well it handles glare and reflections for the price point. Like most variable NDs, you’ll notice a slight color shift at the extreme ends, but it’s easy to correct in post and not a dealbreaker. For the cost, the performance is excellent. If you’re looking for an affordable variable ND filter that gets the job done without breaking the bank, Neewer really delivers here.In short: Solid construction, smooth adjustment, and great value—perfect for creators on a budget.

Beware of the M Shadow
While I got useable results from this filter, I plan on replacing it with a non-adjustable ND filter for two reasons:!. It is difficult to dial in the exact amount needed while on the camera.2. The dreaded M shadow is something you don't have to worry about with a fixed ND filter.

Excellent buy..!
It's a nice filter. It protects the lens and the ability to vary the filter intensity is great. The x pattern in an area of the ring travel is expected and avoidable.Great value, do not affect color.Good buy.

Terrible
6/29/2023 Issue resolved by Neewer customer service.I purchased 2 sizes of nd filters for my new Canon RF lenses. The nd filters case cross' on the images and ruin the images completely. I got them specially for our trip to Germany since we would be in the country side and wanted to do landscape photography. At lower nd settings at first it seems ok. But once you get to 7-9 for longer exposures, it does not work properly.

Cinema-like footage at a tiny fraction of upgrading the camera!
I wanted to squeeze out movie-like motion blur for B-roll using my humble Sony CX405 Handycam. But that camera offers no way to set cinema-like shutter speeds, especially in bright outdoor light, without overexposing everything. So I paired this filter with a glued-on-the-camera 49mm step-up ring. By cranking up the ND filter (until the picture looked too dark) I got the motion blur that matched what my main camera was recording - or close enough that nobody would ever notice!

Ehhh... It's aight I geuss
Very noticeable X factor in certain scenery, and subtle color change. As someone who makes videos as a job, this was not up to par. But for the price it's not bad. If you're using it an emergency backup, it'll work, but in any kind of professional/important video, this isn't the solution. Honestly I think for this price you're better off just cranking shutter speed.TLDR: Decent for the price, not worth the investment for any kind of professional work.

Great adjustable filter
Pros: works as advertised. The sliding design that allowing for gradual shifts from almost no light filtering to nearly all light filtering is amazing. Seems to be very nice quality and arrived with what appears to be a well-made protective case. The cost seems very reasonable for what I received.Cons: I would actually appreciate if the turning (for filtering adjustment) was just a touch 'stiffer' or had a way to lock it into a specific place (I know I'm asking a lot here for such a little filter). I found it was relatively easy to bump it and end up with more light entering than I expected. This was a very minor issue that certainly could be (and is now) dealt with by exercising more caution.Would absolutely buy again. Bought for the 2024 eclipse in North America and the lens filter performed beautifully.
