I purchased this kidde co detector for our car or when we travel. I got this brand coz it’s UL-certified, so I know it meets safety standards and has been properly tested that alone gives me confidence it’s reliable. Setup was easy since it runs on AA batteries, no wiring or complicated installation required. The LED indicators make it simple to check status at a glance, and the test/reset button works smoothly. It also says there will be low-battery alert, so it won’t quietly stop working without me knowing. The portable size is another bonus it’s easy to move if I want coverage in other places, or even take it along when traveling. For anyone looking for a trusted, approved, and low-maintenance CO alarm, this one really covers the essentials. You have to do research before buying

The alarm is reliable. The CO level reading is excellent for confirmation of the presence of carbon monoxide. I do not have a gas stove in my condo, so my previous alarm for the last 10 years did not sound the alarm when I was at home. However, I did take the alarm for a test in my car and in Los Angeles' traffic jam about 9 years ago. The alarm did not sound off when my car windows were closed during a long journey with air recirculation inside. But when I opened my car windows during a very heavy traffic jam to test the air outside, the alarm did sound off briefly with a reading showing a low level of carbon monoxide. Please note that the 10-year warranty begins when the alarm is first installed. The life span of the sensor is also 10 years, starting from the date of power on. Google AI says the 10-year warranty and the life span of the sensor both start on the date of manufacturing, but that is wrong information. In fact, when the alarm is sealed in the plastic package, the sensor undergoes only insignificant degradation. Therefore, the sensor is good for 10 years when unpackaged and installed and the 10-year warranty starts when the alarm is first powered on. Kidde should provide better training for its customer service so that they don't give the same wrong information Google AI gives.

I am comparing 3 detectors for your shopping convenience. The Aegis EC50, Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPM and the X-Sense CO05S. Aegis did not come with any battery, may it did for the one reviewer because there are 2 AA slots where the batteries go on the package and they are empty. I think the factory tried later to save the cost of the batteries. I had to dig in my storage bins for some spares. It took two AA 2850x2=5700mAh and the battery door was extremely difficult to open at the back. The instruction was not clear on where the door separates (bad picture) and it turned out, the battery door was the entire super thin circular plate with nothing you can grab on and it looked like part of the plastic casing. I had to dig my 2 fingers into the two tiny openings of the plate to turn it and they kept on slipping. I am mechanically inclined and had opened every battery door of every product I have purchased without instruction but I had to fight to open this one. If you just look at the way the battery door was designed, you know this product was not well thought out. The LCD fogged up when I was doing the test behind my car's exhaust pipe and I could barely see the screen so I could not continue my carbon monoxide test. I tested the Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPM the same way and the alarm took forever to come on about 7 and half minutes. It came with 3 AA batteries 2850mAh x 3=8550mAh and they should last. The other detector tested was the X-Sense CO05S which came with one 9V battery 625mm AAAA x 6=3750mAh (9V battery is compose of 4 AAAA each has the capacity of 625mAh) which I know it is not going to last as long as the Kidde and the Aegis , even with the power saving circuit. However the X-Sense had a faster detection time as it only took 6 minutes for the alarm to trigger, about one and half minutes earlier than the Kidde. Unfortunately the alarm was only half as loud as the Kidde. I would say if you close the bedroom door, it would be hard to hear it. Out of the 3 detectors, I give the winner to the Kidde and it so happen to be the least expensive. Another benefit of the Kidde is that it is more portable, about half the size of the other two. The only benefit of the X-Sense is that it reacts faster and that 90 seconds faster response may safe life but the problem is that you may not hear the alarm. Hopefully I have saved you some money and headache picking a detector.

I had one for 10 years so I bought another. It's easy and I hope it never detects anything, but if it does, we will be warned.

Simple to install, batteries were included. Was reasonably priced. Well worth the money. To replace with the same one that came with my camper would have been $86.00 SO MUCH BETTER

I have had these Kidde products before and they have lasted a very long time before they reach their "end of life." I purchased this carbon monoxide detector to replace an older Kidde model and so far it has been tested and definitely works, let's hope it never has to beep that loudly again. I recommend this Kidde carbon monoxide detector because it is battery operated and has a useful LCD screen to show relevant information. Mounting screws and batteries were included along with a manual that you should read as it has placement and function details.
