Great Fan! Easy and Elegant. Definitely Recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This Hunter 42” ceiling fan exceeded my expectations. It is the perfect size for a bedroom or small living space and moves a surprising amount of air for its size. The fan is very quiet even on the highest setting which was important for us since it runs overnight. Installation was straightforward and the instructions were clear. The design looks clean and modern and blends well with our decor. Overall, this feels like a high quality, reliable fan and I would absolutely purchase another one for a different room.

Amazing for the price
I absolutely love it! I have no regrets with it at all, and I would highly recommend this to someone looking for a new, powerful fan. Pros: even on highest setting, it's still super quiet and you get a beautiful breeze from it that you can actually feel. It's powerful enough to blow papers around :P It's super stylish and modern. Great for preventing dust build up. really easy to install, literally the longest part of this was screwing the blades onto the brackets. So it's super easy to install, and it doesn't move 1 bit on the highest setting, the only way it'll move is if you tilt it by hand. Cons: Bulbs are the only thing I don't like, they're the really tiny ones, but it's not a huge deal because if you don't like the soft white color, you can swap them out. One other thing I didn't like was the packaging, it's literally just the factory box with shipping stickers on it, and the UPS guy didn't even ring the bell or knock, he just left it on the steps and walked away, I'm glad my phone sent me a message saying it was delivered, so I'd recommend turning those on. Other than those two, I really can't think of anything else wrong with it, maybe the price? But honestly, It's SO worth it. I can't wait for summer to come now, I'll have no problem keeping cool now :) Really, this thing is flawless, and I'm being completely honest. If there was something wrong, I'd be the first to tell you. But it's amazing! The blades are reversible which is really nice :) I got the Nickle and Cherry one, and personally I think it looks the best, the other side of the blades is a brighter tint to the cherry more of a darker wood color, still really nice :) And like I said, I can't wait to try this out for the summer when it gets super hot inside, the long, wide blades will be perfect for providing excellent cooling :D If you're looking for a new fan, seriously, get this! You will not regret it at all :)

HUNTER QUALITY
This is a beautiful Hunter fan. It reminds me of the original Hunter-Classy & Vintage. I ordered the smaller one and it looks stunning in my office. I was hoping it had the classic Hunter label on it as shown in the Amazon photo. Mine had the modern label. View in photo.

Quiet fan, gentle breeze, ample light.
Fan is very quiet, no noticeable vibration on low speed; especially good for bedroom use. Installs nicely.

2 Updates: Light kit failed in just 3 weeks. Pain to install, but it looks good, works well, & price is right.
Update 6-15-2018 I contacted Amazon to just get a replacement light kit. No dice. They referred me to manufacturer. We all know how that went. (20 minutes of phone hell, never reached a human, and finally got disconnected - Oh, how surprising!) I was still under 30 days (barely), so I started a return for the whole unit with Amazon, and then I ordered a whole new unit to replace it. Not about to uninstall the whole thing (mounted on a 14 ft ceiling), so I just took the light kit out of the new box and replaced the defective one, then returned the second fan unit, untouched, with the defective light kit, and a note saying not to resell the unit, unless they replace the light kit.. RETURNS WARNING: Not sure what's up with Amazon now, but used to be if a return was started before the 30 days, you still had a couple weeks to get it back to them. This time, I set up the return 29 days in, and the email they sent me said I had less than 24 hours to get it back to them, to get a refund. Ack! I called them, and they fixed it, but the way they fixed it, was to claim I was returning the second fan I'd just ordered - thus eliminating any 30 day window for returns on the new fan. I called them back, and said the first kit worked great on day one, too, but failed after 3 weeks, so I'd like to keep my option to return the second one in 30 days, if need be. They said they'd fix it, but it still shows I returned the second one, not the original fan, and it's been 2 weeks. Hopefully, I won't need to return this one, but Beware - they are getting tricky on returns, and read those emails, to be sure you still have time to return it, even if you started the return before the 30 days. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Update 6-3-2018: Light kit failed in just 3 weeks from install. Will update again, after attempts to resolve. ------------- Original Review --------------------- Just installed yesterday. Light kit and fan blades were harder than needed to be for install, but at the end, it's a nice looking fan & light, and mine works well so far. Pros: - Looks good overall. Color is crisp white, and the light kit has pretty, swirled design glass, that looks clean. - Light bulbs are the tiny candle kind, but they put out a surprising amount of light in my kitchen. - Moves a lot of air, and does so QUIETLY! Very quietly. - Easy electrical connectors for the light kit. Just snap together, no wire nuts. - Roomy fan housing, so the wires fit easily inside (and potentially any remote you might buy separately). - Extra long wires, so if you need a down-rod extension, it's great. I needed 4' extra, and didn't need to cut, or splice. - Good support bracket for holding it up while you connect the wires, especially with the down-rod extension. Cons: - Install is harder than it needs to be, so plan on cursing more than usual. - Screws are super short, and nearly impossible to get started, because your fingers can't hold them close enough to even start them. - Screw holes are not all pre-threaded, light kit is just punch holes, so plan on cursing more than usual! - Fan blades now require a rubber grommet to be installed, prior to screwing blades to their holders. - Grommets are quite the pain to install, and there are 15 of them, so plan on some time to do that. Overall, I like the fan/light kit. Once you get it installed, you'll be happy, and the price is right. You will be climbing up and down that ladder to find your screws that you dropped (a LOT), but if you learn from my mistakes, you'll pre-install all the screws for the light kit before you even get on that ladder. Don't assemble the kit, just get the screws in place - to open up the holes. They aren't threaded, so doing it on the floor is wildly better than doing it on a ladder, over your head. Once you've threaded the screws in, they'll come in and out a LOT easier, so when you are up there, you won't be fumbling/dropping/cursing quite as much as I was. FYI, I've installed about 15 ceiling fans in the last 35 yrs, and this was harder than some, easier than others. Just new ways to make it hard, but they're almost all a pain to install, one way or another.

Beautiful, inexpensive, hunter ceiling fan 52”
I searched for days looking for ceiling fans, I read hundreds of reviews, even for this Hunter fan and I looked at other brands too. I always came back to this ceiling fan. I had to replace 6 ceiling fans because my house had been in a flooded lake sitting in water for 3 months. My contractor had to pretty much gut my house and rebuild on the inside. My previous ceiling fans were drooping from the enclosed house holding lake water and the moisture from the flooding made every blade droopy looking like a upside down flower. I was going to replace only the blades but by the time I found everything I would need it was just as cheap to order new ceiling fans. I’m so thrilled I made the right decision. They’re more beautiful in person than in the internet. I bought 5 of these fans and they were easy enough for the contractor to hang them up. One fan my contractor said he had a little problem with but nothing he couldn’t figure out. He said they were a breeze to hang up. 3 of the fans were hung on a pitched ceiling and I didn’t use a down rod but the contractor said he would have to shave some of my ceiling wood so the blades would clear the lower part of my ceiling, One fan I ordered a 24” down rod but that was way too much so I ordered a 12” down rod for the bedroom with a deeper pitched ceiling and it looks gorgeous! I couldn’t get over the price of the ceiling fans and the dark bronze hardware is the icing on the cake, really beautiful. I’m so thankful I didn’t regret my purchase, I’m rarely disappointed when I do study whatever it is I’m purchasing from Amazon. The reviews help so much if you read a lot of good and bad reviews because it helps you understand what could happen and if you are prepared in case you are missing a part, or for any problem that may arise. That can happen with anything you order. Luckily, I had a man that was familiar with hanging ceiling fans and it was easy for him to hang. He is not an electrician. I definitely would recommend this ceiling fan even for pitched ceiling. Love my buy!

Bought 3 - and I've not a bad thing to say about them.
I read a lot of reviews, some of which suggested a hum or other anomalous sound. I found this NOT to be the case. I bought 3 of them and mounted them in three different rooms. None of them make any extraneous noise. I also had read that the fan speed was not fast enough, or that there were other performance issues. Again, I found this NOT to be the case. All 3 of my fans perform flawlessly. One of my fans was missing one of the two pull chains that come out of the main unit (not the extension chain). I was very unhappy with Hunter's customer service, since after three calls, nobody ever answered the phone. I spent a long time on hold. The GOOD NEWS is, however, that I simply reported the problem to Amazon, who "overnight shipped" a replacement fan to me, and gave me the shipping label (and 30 days) to return the faulty unit. This, to me, made the problem a complete non-issue. Am I happy - you bet your bottom dollar I am. All fans were very easy to assemble (which, contrary to others who were miffed at this, I found to be a bit of a fun project). The instructions included several methods of electrical assembly, which worked nicely for me since I rent and want to take them with me when I move - so I was able to wire each of them to their own respective 16 gauge heavy duty extension cord and plug them into wall outlets. I'll spare you my other mounting details, since I'm sure very few buyers have the same chalet style exposed roof beams that I have, which allowed me to fabricate my own 4 screw mounting units. But, if you can find a way to contact me, I'll be happy to share my approach. I've attached a photo though, so you can see. Ignore the cord, since that was a sloppy mount to get them running. I've since used a spool of color coordinated 16 gauge wire to hide the cords along the ceiling contours. ;) Anyway - I highly recommend these fans. They are pretty - yet masculine in appearance, the lights are bright enough for my needs, and I'd make the purchase again in a second if I needed to.

quite, steady and even I can install by myself...
My previous Hunter fan died a week ago after 6 years of use. I was worried that I would not be able to replace it myself since I am not a very handyman type of person but I gave it a go before sacrificing at least $100 for installation. I have a 250 sq feet living room and I was puzzled between ordering a 52 inch blade span or more. However, due to the huge price difference and limited selection in the 54+ range, I wanted to go for a 52 inches one. According to the instructions this model is adequate for rooms up to 485sq feet. I am not sure about that claim but it is for sure enough for 250sq feet. In the 52 inches range I had two candidates 52" Builder Deluxe Nickel Fan and this one. The other one offers 5110 CFM airflow which is slightly higher than the 5094 CFM of this model but I am sure it is not significant. That model costs around $35 more and has only 2 light bulb spots. This one has three light spots and is way cheaper and that was the main reasoning behind my purchase. As I said I am not experienced in any work like this and if I can install it which I did, anyone can... ( it took me 3 hours but with some experience or a helper you can cut it down significantly.) Also being tall would be a plus too, I am 5 ft 7 inches and our living room ceiling is pretty high so I had to work with fully extended arms which was painful. The instructions are very clear. All the different types of screws are in a labelled bag so if you DON'T open the bags upfront and open step by step there is no chance you will mess things up. I installed it using the standard rod to my existing electric box. The screws going into the wood for this model were a lot longer than my previous ones therefore, I struggled with them and switched back to the old screws for attachment. I think this much of length is an over kill. If you want to use it you may need to drill the wood a bit. The cables are easy to connect but you surely need to cut them since there is no way to store them inside the top unit or in the electrical box. The blades are of two different colors. One very dark brown and the other one a little lighter brown in a greenish tone ( sorry I don't get the fancy names like mocha or mahogany etc.) The unit comes with 3 60watt candelabra bulbs but I am planing to change them with CFLs since these are costly (180watt in total) and do not give enough ilumination for my room. I have not seen a good replacement in amazon but walmart or homedepot sell reasonably priced CFL light bulbs for for ceiling fans (last time I bought I paid $10 for three) As you can see in my video, there is no wobbling or shaking and the operation is pretty quite even in the highest setting I guess for $74 including free shipping I can not ask for more... I am so far very happy with its performance.. I hope it lasts.

Worst fan with lights I have ever purchased. Was up for a few weeks and it blew up.
The seller is being unreasonable. He is refusing to replace it or refund the money. Worst ever seller. Bought it from AlzengAs. He doesn’t deserve any stars.

WHAT THE TERM "GUARANTEE" MEANS TO AMAZON AND ITS REGISTERED VENDORS?
Fan got burnt in less than 3 months and neither Amazon, nor the seller are interested to solve the matter. product is under guarantee still no response from any of them

Clean, modern, and simple look.
Very easy to install with the guide. Seemed like short blades at first, but when put all together looks nice in a small/medium room. Blows a lot of air. Four speeds: Fast, medium-fast, medium slow and slow. There's a reverse switch to pull up air in the winter and blow down air in the summer. We replaced a larger fan that had such bad wobble due to bent blades that it looked like it would fly off at any moment. This fan has zero wobble and the sound of the motor can only really be heard on the highest setting. This high setting is quite fast so I would imagine most would keep it on the medium-fast speed, or lower. We're very happy with the look and functionality of it! Matches our room well too!

Great fan, but missing safety cable required for Canada.
We have 4 other Hunter Fans (different models) in the house, which we love. This one did not disappoint. Like all Hunter Fans, fitting the wires in is a very tight job, but certainly doable. The fan is ultra-quiet, and has a lovely appearance with a subtle design on the glass light covers. Our only issue is that the fan did not come with a safety cable. We knew of this only because of the other fans we installed. When contacting Hunter, we were told that while it is not a requirement in the US, it is mandatory in Canada and they recommended we contact Amazon directly. Looking at the company selling, it was listed Amazon.com.ca, so I'm thinking this was a model from the US that found its way to Amazon Canada, without the proper safety feature. In contacting Amazon, they were very helpful, and issued a partial refund for us to purchase the safety cable (we didn't want to return the fan, as we are very happy with it - just want it secured).
