Lycopene 25 mg Tablets, 60 Count (22400)

I take Lycopene as a supplement for my high blood pressure. I got away from prescription meds some time ago after researching natural hypertension treatments online. Lycopene definitely stands out as a vital part of any natural BP treatment as far as I am concerned. I have occasionally run out of the Lycopene in the past and noticed my BP being a little jumpy. In addition to its BP lowering properties, Lycopene is a very well known and proven antioxidant that is worthy addition to anyones arsenal towards good health, even if you don't suffer from high BP. Most Lycopene supplements come somewhere in the range of 10 to 20 mg per tablet. This New Century brand at 25 mg per tablet may just be the most potent lycopene that Amazon offers. Although my research has shown that a dose of 10 mg a day is a good average for most people, I like the extra strength of this New Century for its BP lowering properties. And, for the strength and effectiveness of this brand, it is very reasonably priced. I have skipped around in the past on Lycopene products, but I will be sticking with the New Century from now on. In conclusion, if you are considering Lycopene as a health supplement and have blood pressure already in the safe range, you can get by on a 10 or 20 mg maintenance dose in my opinion. But if you suffer from hypertension as I do, I would suggest you consider this New Chapter brand for its price, and hefty does that has proven to me to be very effective as part as my blood pressure regimen... Recommended.. : )

I have been taking this lycopene supplement. It is a great antioxidant. The pigments are like carotenoids and I feel that they are important for my eye health. I like the convenient tablet form. The bottle is also great. The bottle fits nicely in my shelf and more efficiently uses the space due to is rectangular footprint. I also am reusing the bottles as they slide into my vitamin shelf like books and hold more than round bottles of the same width and hight. So I buy my other vitamins in larger sizes and rebottle into these convenient bottles, and so buy fewer bottles over all.

Looked at a lot of Lycopene supplements on Amazon and elsewhere and this one is the best for value. All the others (that I've seen) are probably very good but a bit misleading in that the mg of lycopene are not actual lycopene, but the tomato extract it comes from. The actual amount is usually 5-10% of the extract, meaning the pure lycopene content is extremely low. You have to read the ingredient list on the back. This product, according to the manufacturer, is actually 25 mg of pure lycopene, which means you pay less than 1 cent per mg of lycopene. Not bad, especially when you want to take 25-50 mg/day.

I lowered my PSA and my cholesterol with Lycopene! It really works! No side effects, no bad taste, and 40 mg is a good dosage for what I use it.

Baylor Scott White prefers and stocks this brand in their pharmacies. With so many brands to choose from, this has become my 'go to' favorite. And the price is right!!

Did not realize they include artificial / chemical (blue) color. There's absolutely no reason a vitamin should have chemical colors; I wish I caught that before purchase. This brand doesn't do returns...what if it causes problems?
