No, the Altec Lansing LifeJacket Mini does not support USB Flash Drives through the USB port. This speaker is a Bluetooth speaker and needs to be connected to a Bluetooth device.

Anyone know why this speaker would just die? it was my go 2 but 2 days ago it just stopped working. it's 6 mos. old. not used much. help?

Alteck Lansing, has had this issue on several products I bought a sonic boom that is advertised as bullet proof and it died after 2 weeks of buying. Have a warranty and had to mail at my cost to the States, where they said would have a new replacement in 10-15 days. Didn't receive until 4 months later and had to call and e mail on a weekly basis. Would recommend buying some reputable brand with good serviceability

What are the actual product dimensions? I own a speaker that I believe is identical to this one but the dimensions are completely different.

How long does it take to charge?

It varies depending on your unit; I found that mine takes 4 hours to completely charge. I have an older unit.
