Winsor & Newton - What Can I Say More?
Full disclosure: I'm a fan. Winsor & Newton is arguably the best quality one can get in generally available art supplies (harder to find are Daniel Smith and Schmincker). I have yet to purchase a W&N product that I wasn't thrilled about -- and this was no exception. The balance is exquisite with an organic grip, and the bristles offer natural and balanced water retention. The tip is versatile enough for both responsive and broad gestural strokes. It feels like a natural extension of my hand and "stays out of my head" when I'm in a creative flow. Love it!

Winsor and Newton bamboo brush
This brush holds a lot of water and is good for my watercolor painting. Like the versatility of use for washes and finer details. Made well as all W&N brushes are.

Dirty brush
I should have read the reviews. My brush arrived with the handle so dirty I couldn't find much less read the brand, series or size. While washing the sizing from the bristles several fell out, not too uncommon. I decided to try clean the handle, only then could I read the WINSOR &NEWTON on the handle, continued cleaning revealed the series 150 . Both started to fade as I cleaned it with clear water and brush soap. The sticker came off so I'm not sure about returning it, the dirt is cleaned off so no evidence there. Not what I expected from Winsor &Newton.

Bristles fall out at first
I was very disappointed with this brush. It holds alot of water but the bristles are constantly falling out. I have had other brushes by this company and was happy with them so was expecting same quality. I do not recommend. I want to update my review and increase rating to 4 stars. I started using this brush again and find myself reaching for it more often. I realized that after using it a few times it was no longer losing bristles . It is actually quite nice for large areas and is very soft. Give it a try and just realize that you have to use it a bit to get rid of any loose bristles.

Great Brush at a great price!
I am not an artist by any means, but I do know when a product is good, bad or indifferent. Saying that, this brush is exceptional. The protective coating on the bristles came off quite easily. The brush comes with a very nice cap that will keep the tip in good shape. It hold a lot of water and pigment, but rinses out nicely. All in all a great brush at a very affordable price.

Horrible
Bristles go everywhere itโs not stable might as well buy a cheap pack at Walmart. Bought a #000 and it is very bad the quality is horrible

Great brushes
Terrific brushes! I am a potter and use these brushes for glazing and watercolor effects. I have not had any issues with the brushes. Yes, I would recommend and yes, I will definitely buy these again.

Just right!
I've been looking for a good, affordable, ink brush for detail work on sumi-e paintings and this one is great! Well made, comes to a clean point, holds both liquid and stick ink well. I recommend it!

Looses hair constantly
Would have been a good little brush, but it looses hair constantly, which makes it useless for watercolour painting.

High price for poor quality
I paid a high price for a quality product. Instead I have bought a very poor quality brush that loses hairs every few minutes. I use it to paint under glazes on pots and need really good quality brushes for this work. A good quality Chinese brush does not shed hairs. It's useless to use as I have to spend so long removing discarded hairs. Don't waste your money on this rotten product.

Excellent chinese style brushes
I've tried many chinese brushes and these are the best quality so far. They don't loose hair, hold a lot of pigment and water, keep a very fine point and have some spring back. Excellent both for washes and dry brush work. Can make a good painting with one or two sizes! 1 month later: Made some very good watercolors with these brushes. They are very versatile: washes, dry rush, details. They hold all LOT of paint, keep a fine point and have some snap. Only downside: the bamboo on the smaller one (#2) has cracked and the point as fallen off!| Taped it back together. Not to disapointed because this particular one did not cost much. I'll order more than one to replace it... Worth the money.
