The instructions can be hard to follow sometimes, but it is still a fun activity to do with kiddos. I use this often when working on building frustration tolerance and perseverance, the kids are always so proud of themselves when they finally get the hang of it all by themselves. But I have to teach it because they can’t make sense of it by following the instructions in the book. However, I do understand how it would be hard to give *great* instructions via print.

Got this for my nephew for his 10th birthday and it was SO nostalgic because I loved this very book in the 90's. He is excited to learn all the tricks and show his grandma and I next time he sees us.

Keeps my 7yo entertained. Some of the more complicated patterns are tricky but the instructions are good.

This assumes you already know something about these. Had to copy instructions from the internet for the kids to understand.

This is just like I remember from when I was a kid. The string feels nice and sturdy as well. It’s a bit hard having to turn the pages for tricks that require a lot of steps but that didn’t stop me from having a good time.

This makes me think of my childhood and I am excited to teach my girls! Only negative is there are not multiple so they will have to take turns.

Who knew one could have so much fun with a string? I ordered this because I remembered having one when I was a kid, and it just so happened that they still make it! My daughter really loves learning different string tricks, but more importantly, it’s something we can do that is special for just the two of us, and she enjoys that. I really like that this doesn’t require anything except our hands and a piece of string. No mess, no muss, no fuss, just fun. And if you look on YouTube, you can find videos with explanations for other tricks as well. The book provided does a good job of explaining basic configurations, but I don’t think the colors on the string match the colors in the book. It didn’t seem to make much difference, though. Super fun and worth the money for an old-fashioned activity! 🙂

Bought as Xmas present for my granddaughter whose mum enjoyed the game as a youngster. Hope the GD does too.

I bought this as a gift for an 11 year old and she has had hours of amusement from it. The diagrams are really clear and colourful. I especially liked the fact that the book is spiral bound, so you can open to a page and it will stay there without closing again. This useful when your hands are occupied with the string! The included string is good quality and still going strong after many months - no fraying at all. I would definitely recommend this book; it’s a good, old fashioned pastime.
