Terrible. It is the middle of the night. I ordered these months ago, when my son first got his braces on because I figured they’d be useful to have around. Took them out of the package tonight because it’s the first time we have needed to use them. The moment I touched them to the braces wire, the tip of the cutter broke off and went flying, rendering them useless. It’s going to be a long night with a wire poking his tongue all night. Don’t waste your money. Buy something better.

This worked perfectly. I was hesitant because of so many negative reviews, but we weren’t able to get into my son’s orthodontist, so I figured we would give this a try. The design made it easier to trim the wire without fear of accidentally cutting my son’s cheek. It cut the wire cleanly and easily (you do need to squeeze with a firm grip). I recommend watching a video on YouTube first to make sure you know what you’re doing.

The listing says it can't cut particularly thin wire used early on in treatment. It can't cut thicker wires, either, including those of the gauge and material this is advertised as being able to cut. I tried a range of solid core electrical wires to see if this tool had the capacity to cut anything at all - it doesn't. The cutting edge has no sharpening. It's not even tapered. Maybe it's supposed to be perfectly flat and somehow just crush the wire. Either way, it doesn't work. In the end, I just sterilized some $1.00 flush cutters from aliexpress, which worked perfectly

Works great for trimming my son’s braces wire instead of having to go in for a trim. Easy and safe to use. I like how it hold the cut wire in place so I don’t have to worry about it falling in his mouth. Well worth the money. Great quality well made.
