Lots of heat ...
I bought this heater to replace a tiny Lasko myHeat which stopped working after 1.5 years. I use it under my desk at work. Since the old tiny Lasko had a fairly small heat output, and I was often still cold even with a blanket, I decided to try a different heater. The actual size (dimensions) of this heater is great for my use. Still fits easily under my desk and since it is black, it is also inconspicuous (we're not supposed to have heaters in my office, but it's just too damn cold!). The noise level of this heater is significantly higher than the tiny Lasko it replaced. If someone walks into my office, they will definitely notice that something is running, but it's mostly just serves as white noise, which I like as it helps to drown out the sounds of my office mate. Well, I took this item to work for the first time and boy! ... this thing sure puts out the heat! I've ran it on low with the thermostat dial set at just under 1/4 turn. I'm burning up! Which rarely happens, especially in this ice box of a room. It has run all day at this low heat setting (i.e. the thermostat hasn't cut off once, but I've confirmed that feature does work) so yes, my office is obviously quite cool (and even colder in the summer! Phoenix AC levels ... brrrr!), but I'm worried that this heater puts out too much heat for this particular need. If I wasn't worried about my heater being brought to the attention of someone who may confiscate it, I would set it in the corner and just let it heat up the entire room as I believe it would be great for that purpose. But alas, I require a small, inconspicuous, under the desk heater that keeps me warm and is reliable to run 8+ hours a day. I can't speak to longevity yet, but if you're looking for a small space heater that really gets the job done, definitely take a look at this little machine. It should easily heat up a small bedroom / bathroom with no trouble.

Very compact heater that packs a punch
I bought this heater after researching the safest heaters to use in a nursery. Our rooms get very cold if the doors are closed due to us having a pellet stove for heat. Therefore, I needed a heater that would be safe to use. Basically, I like this one. A lot. Here's what it can (and cannot) do- Good: - It heats up a 22'*16' room very quickly. You start to feel the difference in about 10 minutes, and it turns off in about an hour. - You can set the temperature (kind of). It has a dial that goes from low to high, and you can set it. This thing makes the room so hot that we have it set on the low side. If I were to change one thing it definitely would be that I want to be able to set a specific temperature (i.e. 70 degrees.) When it reaches its temp it turns off so that it isn't constantly running, which I found a must. - It turns off if it tips. There is a little spring that is activated when properly sitting on a surface. If you pick it up or it falls over, it turns off. Also a must. - It is small. Like, really small. It sits on my daughter's dresser and is slightly larger then a round alarm clock. It's hard to believe the size to heat output. - It doesn't get hot to the touch. Worried about little fingers? Well, this is high up on a dresser AND doesn't get hot. So no worries about this heater burning a little one. - It's cute. I know this matters not at all, but it is. It fits perfectly with her white decor, if you care about that sort of thing. Not Great: - It doesn't turn. This doesn't matter to me, but it might to you. - You can hear it. It's not silent. It's slightly more quiet than what we have in our bedroom but does makes noise. If you are a light sleeper then you may wake up when it turns off and on throughout the night. Overall: I like it more than the one in our own room and may switch. Especially for this price.

Nice little heater. Used it all winter and no issues heats very well, fan is quiet, looks cool.
Purchased this early winter to heat the built in back porch that our kids now use as a game room. It's part of the heated space of the house but less insulated, so always just a bit cool. We've used this little guy al winter and it works great. Even on the coldest nights, the 9x13 space heats to very warm in about 10 minutes. Thermostat works well. The mid-level heat option works fine if you are going to leave it on, but the max power works great for heating the space quickly, when you mostly leave it off and enter a cold room. The kids didn't burn the house down with it, so seems reasonably safe. If I had a complaint, and I don't it works fine for me, but the fan isn't super strong. If you're expecting the heat to disperse of a large space with the fan, it's not going to do that. The trade off (that is good in my opinion) is that the fan is almost silent. You can hear it, but it makes very little sound. I'd have no problem sleeping beside this heater it is so quiet.

Reasonably Effective, Safe, Quiet
My home is generally warm enough, but in the coldest part of winter, the living room gets frigid. There's no insulation between the ground floor and upstairs, so all the heat rises, and the room has two whole walls of windows for what heat remains to leach out of. I have found myself not using the living room--where our only television is--because it's too cold. I had a small, cheap space heater for about ten years, but it died a couple years ago and I never replaced it...till now. I read a lot of reviews, and I decided that safety and quiet were more important to me than cosmetic issues or which heater is warmest. Really, it's just that my feet get cold. I ordered this model because it is cheap, has the tilt-shutoff feature for safety, and the information available was written in fluent English. I turned it on to the hottest setting and set it up about 4 feet away from my feet (see photo). At first I was ambitious. I tried kicking my slippers off to see if the heater would warm them all by itself. I nearly froze to death. Fifteen minutes later I tried it with my slippers on, but no fleece blanket. Five minutes in I was still cold, but after ten minutes it was better, and thirty minutes later I had forgotten there was ever an issue. Bear in mind that although the heater is pretty close to my feet, I'm in a large cold room. In fact, there are no walls between any of the rooms downstairs--roughly 1,000 square feet--except for the bathroom and closets, so in some ways this is a challenging set up for one small space heater. Nevertheless, after half an hour the thermostat indicated that the entire downstairs was three degrees warmer. Not bad. I accidentally tested the tip-over safety shutoff when I set it up. The electrical cord was hooked underneath the little stand that serves as a base for the heater, causing a tiny shift in stability, and I didn't see it. I turned it on and nothing happened. Is it defective? I wondered. Is it plugged in? I checked the plug, turned back around to look at the space heater, and then I saw it. I moved the cord out of the way so that the heater was resting completely flat on the table, and it turned on immediately. I felt comforted knowing the safety mechanism actually does work. In addition, the noise it makes is very soft. I can watch Netflix while this thing is turned on without having to turn the sound up. So, I won't go five stars here, because if a heater is four feet or less from my feet, I think I should at least notice that the heat is on right away. It was certainly toasty enough when I was standing directly in front of it, but once I made it to my chair and put my feet up, I stayed just as cold as before for a few minutes. But for the money I spent and in the room I used it in, I am satisfied with the value provided.

WARNING - Warranty will not be honored. Doesn't last. Not made by Honeywell anymore.
We have two of these heaters used for pre-heating the bathroom before use. Prior to this style heater we had the old round Honeywell (actually made by Honeywell) that lasted for probably 5 or more years before the cord wore out. These are made by Kaz (Helen of Troy). This one lasted exactly 1 year and 2 days before the fan started running very slowly. It has a 3 year warranty. I contacted Honeywell and they asked a few questions to complete the warranty. After finding out that it was used in a bathroom they denied the claim (see verbiage below). I used to trust Honeywell for numerous products (heaters, thermostats, alarm products) but over the years I've noticed quality drop across the board. Very sad that you can't buy anything that lasts anymore! Emailed response: Unfortunately, we can not recommend using any of our heaters in a bathroom or any other moist environment such as a laundry room, etc. These heaters are not designed to withstand exposure to high levels of humidity. If they are exposed to humidity the internal electronics of the heater may be permanently damaged. Even if the heater is turned off while in a moist environment, humidity will still settle on the heater grids and inner components. Any damage that results from using this heater in a way that is not specified in your owner's manual will not be covered under the warranty.

It keeps me nice and warm and toasty
This little heater is a powerhouse!! Don't judge it by it's small size!! I got this little heater for my computer room because it's the coolest room in the winter months. It keeps me nice and warm and toasty!! I love the design; it almost looks like a stereo speaker or alarm clock, which makes it look good in any room you chose to use it in. The heat is instantaneous and it has a nice control knob on top which let's you adjust the heat and it has auto shut-off. I never even have to put in on the high setting, because I keept it a couple of feet away from me on the floor and it gets nice and toasty within a couple of minutes! I love the safety features it has too. If it is bumped/moved or tips over, it will automatically shut-off. It is very quiet too. You don't have to worry about getting burned because the exterior stays cool. Only the heating element inside gets hot. Honestly, I can't say one negative thing about this heater. I've owned Honeywell products all my life and never been disappointed with them. This stands true for this products as well.

Excellent Product!!! Don't hesitate to buy!
This is one of the best purchases I made in a long while. It is small enough to fit on my desktop (8" in diameter, 4" thick). I purchased it because once the cooler weather comes, my hands (and nose) get so cold when I am working at my computer all day. I used to place a heating pad on my lap and wrap my hands occasionally to get warm, then begin work again. This product allows me to work continuously. When placed on my desktop, the gentle heat reached up to my forehead warming my entire upper body including my hands. I work at home so I am saving on my heating bill by having this product. I purchased the white one, and it is adorable looking too. The heat is very adjustable, and I keep mine on a moderate level, and it throws tons of heat. I have only had it for a week. I live in the north east, so I really hope it lasts at least through the winter season. The only thing to remember...plug it directly into a wall and not an extension cord. I unplug it after I finish working. Both help to keep safe.

Keeping us warm while furnace is broken
Our home's heating system was destroyed in a flash flood in Aug and we are now in early Dec (in wisconsin) using these heaters while we wait for repairs. The house is 2200 sq ft, over 100yrs old with high ceilings and drafty Windows. I bought 5 of these heaters (plus one fireplace style which is pretty but doesn't provide any more heat) and started using them in Oct. Note: the instructions say DO NOT plug in to extension cords - the cords do get hot and cause a fire hazard if not plugged directly in to a wall outlet. The units themselves don't get overly hot and the auto-shut off function works consistently if they are tipped or lifted. Running 2 of these heaters upstairs (about 1000sq ft) will maintain a temp of 65-70 while it's 20-30 degrees outside. The downside is that the temperature control doesn't seem to work well, meaning they need to be turned on or off manually for the most part, to keep a consistent temperature in an area. They actually heat too well to keep running in a closed room for hours at a time. Downstairs is more drafty and harder to keep warm (plus the basement isn't currently heated) today it is 20 degrees outside, I'm running one heater in each of the 5 rooms in the first floor (4 of these + the electric fireplace) and the temp inside is 64. The electric bill from Nov since we have had at least one running constantly was only about $100 higher than average which was offset by not having a gas bill. My conclusion: these little heaters function well beyond their intended purpose!
