Pros: - Excellent sound quality and imaging. - Great for competitive gaming, movies, and music. - High-quality build with a comfortable fit after the break-in period. - Expect a tight clamp at first, but it gets much better with regular use. I upgraded from a pair of budget headphones I had been using since around 2017–2018, and the difference was immediately noticeable. The sound quality is much clearer, and the open-back design makes everything feel more natural and immersive. Whether I’m playing, watching movies, or listening to music or editing, these headphones have been a huge upgrade. The only downside is that they’re pretty tight at first. During my first week, one ear was actually a little sore because of the clamp force. Instead of returning them, I gave them some time to break in. After about a month of regular use, they’re much more comfortable. The clamp has loosened up, my ears don’t hurt anymore, and I can wear them for long sessions without any problems. If these feel too tight at first, don’t judge them on day one. Give them a week or two to break in, especially if you’re switching from older headphones like I did. For me, it was absolutely worth the wait, and I’d definitely recommend them.

I got to say that I really like the general aesthetics and fit of Beyerdynamic headphones. What I didn't like about them in the past was their lack of detachable cables and the very bright tuning. I'm glad to say that Beyerdynamic has fixed both of those issues with the DT Pro X headphones. The cups are deep enough that my ears do not touch the surface of the drivers inside. One thing to be aware of, if you're not used to headphones with a lot of clamp pressure, this pair can feel overly clampy. It took me about a week to get used to it. Some people will argue that an oval shaped earcups are better but I really like the round ones. As long as your ears will completely fit inside, I find them very comfortable. With the round earcups, I find more flexibility in placing the headband on top of my head without affecting the fit. When worn for hours on end, I find most headphones will start creating a hotspot on the top of my head. I need to adjust where the headband lands on my head by rotating the earcups around my ears. With oval earcups, this will obviously affect the fit and seal. Round earcups do not have this issue for me. Comparing the DT900 Pro X to the DT700 Pro X, the 700 definitely has more bass but the 900 has a more open sound. I bought both not necessarily because of their differences in sound quality. I bought both because I have different needs regarding sound isolation. I typically prefer open back headphones but in a shared home office, there are plenty of times I really wish I had a closed back pair for when I really need to block out noise. Having said that, I'm finding that I'm really preferring the 700 for casual listening because of the bass. I'm not a bass head and I generally really prefer a flat sound profile but the bass on the 700 just sound so good. It is tight and not boomy. That's not to say that the 900 is lacking in bass though as the bass on the 900 is quite good as well. I've been using the Shure SRH1840 for the past 10 years. It was never really my first choice but at the time it was the only one I could find that checked all the boxes for me. In comparing the headphones, The 1840 have a much more open feel than the 900. As such, I feel that the sound stage of the 1840 is a bit wider. Personally though, I prefer the closer sound stage of the 900. Where the 1840 really lacks is the bass and mids. Compared to the 900, the vocals on the 1840 sounds very recessed. For the price those Shure headphones are going for, I don't really see them worth it especially when the DT Pro X's are available for much cheaper. I paid $700 for my SRH1840 back in 2013 and I knew it was overpriced then, but again, it was a pair that checked all most of the boxes for me (mainly comfort and build), minus the sound quality. Speaking of build, the SRH1840 is still going strong. I have replaced the earpads 2 times and the cable I think 1 time. The headband is really worn out but Shure sells them for $36 the last time I asked them. The metal grill though has started to show some paint wear and slight rusting on the edges. Overall, I'm very happy with the DT Pro X headphones. Both the 700 and 900 are very good with different use case for each. For easy listening or monitoring, I'd recommend the 700, but for a more neutral sound signature for mixing and editing, the 900 is better for sure. *Update October 14, 2024:* Just a year of constant use, the leatherette wrapping the foam in the headband has started to come undone on the 700 Pro X. The 700 Pro X is the one I use regularly. The 900 Pro X that I use in my sim racing rig is still ok. I will still give these headphones 5 stars as they've really been pretty much perfect for the one year that I've had them so far. I bought headphone headband wraps and used it to hold the foam in place. When I bought these headphones last year, I was expecting this to be an issue. Some people have said that Beyerdynamic has fixed it by using a different glue but I knew that would be almost impossible short of a redesign. I just wished the headbands on these headphones came with wrap style cover from the factory. They look better, more comfortable, and lasts much longer than the current design. *Update October 21, 2024:* I decided to contact Beyerdynamic about the replaceable foam headband that came apart in my DT700 Pro X. I also told them that I would eventually need one for my DT900 Pro X as well. The very next day after the email, I received a notification that an order has shipped. Today, I received the new headband foams. I attached a photo and you can see the improvement they made with the new one. The old one on the left and the new on the right. The issue with the old one is that the leatherette will eventually come unglued (from my experience and from what I read from other people, it's usually a year of constant use). Once it starts, it's very difficult to put back and almost impossible to glue it back and make it look tidy. Super glue do not hold on to the plastic material of the headband. The only option is replacement. I'm really glad that they fixed the issue by overlapping the leatherette so much more where it glues on to the plastic. The warranty service is also exceptional.

I tried the Sennheiser HD 650 first, and while I understand why people love them, they just didn’t hit the same for me as my Beyerdynamic headphones. The DT 900 Pro X feels much closer to what I was hoping for: open, detailed, comfortable, and still familiar if you already like the Beyerdynamic sound. The build quality feels excellent, and the comfort is a big win. They feel sturdy without being overly heavy, and I can wear them for long editing sessions without feeling distracted by them. Sound-wise, they’re clear and detailed without feeling harsh to me. For video editing, they’ve been great. I feel more confident judging dialogue, music, sound effects, and overall levels compared to the HD 650, which felt a little too soft/quiet for the way I like to work. These give me the open-back space I wanted while still keeping enough energy and clarity to actually make editing decisions. Overall, if you like Beyerdynamic headphones and want an open-back option for editing, mixing, or everyday listening, the DT 900 Pro X is a fantastic choice. They gave me the comfort, sound signature, and confidence I was looking for.

Sadly, putting in this review at the 3-year mark (5 stars so people see this review, read the end): I've used these daily for about 3 years, so here are things you should know: - The audio is fantastic. It lived up to the hype, and it was 100% worth the money as far as audio goes. Not a single complaint here, I absolutely love these. - The headphones are pretty comfortable, the ear cushions are pretty stiff initially, so just give them a couple days for them to break in a bit. - While the overall structure quality is very solid, there's a known issue where the material covering the headband cushioning comes off after a while. The cushioning remains in place however, so it doesn't make a difference as far as comfort goes Unfortunately, after a wonderful 3 years, the right side of the headphones stopped working completely. I took very good care of these, never dropped them, so I couldn't avoid this in any way. It seems to be an issue with the cable that goes into and through the headband (the cable that connects both sides). It must be kept at a very specific angle for the right side to turn back on, otherwise, I'm stuck with only one side playing audio. I no longer have the warranty, but I'll be contacting customer support anyway. If anything good comes from it, I'll update this review

I will start this review by giving you a background of my experience with headphones and audio. I am an audio enthusiast but by no means am I an audiophile or have analytical experience with headphones or audio. I own the Sennheiser HD560s, HD58x, Beyerdynamic DT 770 and DT 990 pro's, the Phillips Fidelio x2 HR's and now the DT 900 pro x. I have about 20 hours of listening experience so far on the DT 900 pro x and would like to leave my feedback because so far the reviews of these on Amazon have been mostly negative. I disagree with most of what has said so far about these. I use all of my headphones with the Fiio K5 PRO dac/amp and listen to music and play PC games like Escape From Tarkov, CSGO and APEX Legends. Starting with the positives about the DT 900 Pro x Positives: -Well balanced tuning with a slight V curve in the lows and upper mids/highs but nothing crazy as compared to the DT 990 Pro which has a very obvious V curve and washed out mids. The mids on the 900 pro x are clear, slightly forward and seem to help while playing FPS games to amplify things such as foot steps and gunshots. The lows are punchy and precise with some bonus sub bass which is hard to find in this price range without the lows muddying up the mids and highs. Sound stage - The sound stage to me is perfect, not too wide, not too closed in. In comparison the the DT 990 pro the sound stage is similar but seems a bit more closed in because the mids are more forward and not as recessed to my ears. In games like Tarkov I can feel immersed without feeling like things are spaced out too far, to me it sounds perfect for gaming. For music the soundstage is just right, again a little more closed in than the DT 990 pro and the HD560s but for me it helps me to get immersed in music vs feeling like I am in the back of the crowd at the concert. Imaging - The imaging is fantastic for the price you pay for these headphones. Instrument separation is great and I can easily hear the different instruments in music without any muddying up or meshing of the tones the instruments make. In games the ability to tell which direction enemies are is fantastic, even better than the HD 560s and the 58x both vertically and horizontally. The DT 990 pro does a good job of imaging but the mids are so recessed that it hinders the imaging by muddying up the tones of instruments to my ears. Cables - The cables are high quality and the headphones come with two lengths of cables which are detachable. I am not sure how this could get any better. The cables are mini xlr and come with a gold plated adapter to connect to either a 3.5mm jack (most mobile devices and computer sound boards) or a 1/4 inch plug to connect to dac/amps etc. The cables are soft rubber and very flexible. I am currently using the shorter cable to plug into the Fio K5 pro and I have a dead silent sound floor with a perfect length cable. If you turn your head a lot the cable may rub on your shoulder but for me it's a non issue. Build - The build quality of these headphones is great in my opinion. You get a mix of high quality plastic around the ear cups attached to a very sturdy metal band holding the earcups to the headband which is made out plastic and what seems to be a leatherette headband cushion. The wires are tucked neatly and do not interfere with wearing them. The velour ear cups are well made and look like they will last quite a while. The inner ear cups have a high quality material protecting the driver which is a step up from the thin foam you see on most headphones. Overall I give the build quality a 8.5/10. Cons: Comfort - These are not the most comfortable headphone for extended listening (8 hours+) but for me they are perfect because I do not use them for that long. The ear cups are slightly stiff at first but seem to be softening each time I use them. The headphones are slightly heavy on my had as compared to the HD58x and the HD560s which may cause quicker fatigue for longer listening session. One bonus is the ear cups and headband cushion are all replaceable to help extend the life of the headphones. Design - Some might say that these are not the most attractive headphones and appear very basic in design. I myself am not so vain but I know that some people make a living off of being in front of the camera with headphones on (streamers) who may prefer a more attractive headphone design. Again, not a con to me but I can see how it would be a con to others. Price - 300 dollars is a lot of money to most people so having to fork up 300 dollars may be a con to some people. I personally believe that you get what you pay for with these headphones especially with the added bonus of two cables and a quality carrying bag but I can see how some people may see 300 dollars as a bit steep. The HD560s retails for 200 dollars and is not far behind in sound quality from these but for me, the extra 100 dollars is well worth it for slightly more clarity in the mids and highs with punchier bass and sub bass as compared to the HD 560s. The highs - The highs of the dt 900 pro x are somewhat your classic Beyerdynamic signature with elevated, clear and slightly sibilant highs. Sibilance does not affect me as much as others but I will say it is still there but toned down a bit as compared to the DT 990 Pros. If you can tolerate some sibilance you will love how the highs sound. Conclusion: I believe that headphones have a diminishing return above the 200 dollar mark and when you pay an extra 100 dollars you get an ever so slight increase in sound quality. I believe that at the current price these are worth the extra 100 dollars vs lets say the DT990 pro because you are getting better mids, less sibilant highs, a more neatly put together sound stage and better imaging. The build quality is higher on these compared to the DT 990 pros which creaked right out of the box for me. I love the detachable cable design and the fact that you get two cables and a high quality carrying bag is an added bonus. These are also 48 ohms so you could drive them without an external amp/sound card which is great for most people. If you have a budget for these and are looking for a headphone which makes listening to music fun and playing games more immersive I would give these a shot, worse case scenario you don't like them and utilize Amazon's awesome return policy!

I originally bought these for gaming and music as a secondary. They turned out to be better for music and secondary for gaming. For gaming they're great directionally and everything sounds nice. But when it comes to competitive hectic shooters like Apex Legends for example, they layering and precise distance imaging isn't that great. I followed reviews from a youtuber that made these sound like they were very special in those areas. As a very competitive gamer, I strongly disagree. It's very hard to tell the exact distance someone is from you. I tried out hyper x cloud 2s before and think they were butt ugly, but they were much better at precise imaging in game to me. If they weren't so unbearably gamer ugly I'd have kept them, because for the price those are great. Anyways. Music wise I listen to everything besides metal, punk, and country. These make everything sound so satisfying. I use an ifi zendac v2 as a dac which has the best bass boost ever made, which improves these headphones so much. Without the dac they're still very smooth and full sounding, just not AS great without the bass boost. EQ could help but wouldn't be as good imo. I compared these to the 560s headphones and it wasn't even close. 560s are very overrated to me. Unless you need them for analytical purposes, they're so flat that they're not enjoyable. I'd spend the extra $100 for headphones that sound much better and are more comfortable to me. After about a week of wearing these, they go from comfy to absolute comfiest headphone ever. I love the dt 990s as well for comfort since they're so light and have big soft earcups. But they become fatiguing eventually with the sound. The 900 pro x's are legitimately so comfy that I enjoy putting them on and have actually fell asleep with them on at least twice. Overall between comfort, style, great music experience, and decent gaming experience, I'd recommend these if you have the budget. The 990s are very close and sound more open, I loved them for classic rock, but for modern music they left a lot to be desired. The 900s have low impedance so a dac/amp isn't required like the 990s and the 900s have a more full sound.

Almost every headphone I've owned in the past I've had gripes with or complaints, not this one, and I've owned planar magnetic headphones before. Great for gaming as well. Sound: Only second to headphones hundreds of dollars more than it. Detail retrieval is off the charts since this is for mixing and mastering after all. I could explain everything but I don't an extra hour to say how good this sounds. Fit/Comfort: Great once you put it on a soccer ball for 2 hours lol. It definitely has too much clamp force when you first get it but definitely breaks in over time. Nice and light, I could wear these headphones for 5 hours with no issues. Also has just enough tilt to support most heads. Ear pads are comfortable, spacious and deep, which is good for sound as well. I have ears that kinda poke out and every headphone I've ever had the tip of my ear has always rubbed against the inside of the headphone causing a red sore area on my ears, not this one. Only occasionally I have to adjust these because of my ear tips touching the ear pad, which is a good improvement. Build Quality: Great sturdy build all around. Feels high quality and like it won't break in 10+ years. Cable is good, stethoscope effect is barely noticable. the only wish that I have for this headphone is if the mini-XLR connecter thingie didn't wiggle around a little bit, but that doesn't affect sound quality or anything, just my OCD.

Everything about this headphone is exceptionally engineered, balanced and refined. They sound nothing like the DT990 Pro which is the older predecessor of this 900 Pro X model. Everything you want is here. Great bass, midrange and treble. Good soundstage, tonality, detail and clarity. Excellent build quality and solid included cables. Comfort is 100 percent. I have previously owned and sold both the Senn HD660S and Sundara. These Beyer Dynamic DT900 Pro X I'm definitely keep for the long haul. The problem with the Sennheiser 6 series is that they are moderately uncomfortable to me. Clamp pressure is too high and the cable extends down below the neck making them easy to snag and hard to make head movements while gaming. Also the 6 series is a bit off in their tonality sounding a bit washed out. The Sundara are a good runner up to these Beyer 900 Pro X headphones. The issue with the Sundara is the cheap build quality, poor included cable and narrow soundstage. The Sundara probably wins in detail retrieval and bass extension because they are planar magnetic, but I think the 900 Pro X are more all around winners in terms of a complete package compared to both the Sennheiser and HiFiMan competitors. I like these so much I will probably save up for a pair of DT 1990 Pro. The 900 Pro X is well suited to movies, games, music, TV and general multimedia content. They aren't even hard to drive either although I use an amp (Lyr 3 low gain). Pushing them loud caused no distortion and really makes the clarity and soundstage shine on my favorite pop recordings. I'm so happy these were available on Amazon at an outstanding price point.

PC Gaming: otro motivo por el cual me decidí por estos es porque leí muy buenas reseñas, pasé de utilizar unos audífonos HD 600 a estos, y en gaming los Dt 900 pro X se lo llevan de calle para juegos tipo FPS, es muy fácil distinguir si un enemigo viene por izquierda, derecha, enfrente, atrás, arriba, abajo, pero no solo eso, espacialmente puedes ubicarlos perfectamente gracias al soundstage y el Imaging que ofrece, 10-10 para jugar. Antes probé unos Astro A40 TR y estos a pesar de tener un soundstage más amplio, estos tienen mal Imaging ( sabes que viene el enemigo pero no puedes tener un buen nivel de posicionamiento como el que ofrecen los DT 900 pro X) los astro en calidad auditiva ni comparar no son rival. Resumen: los DT 900 pro X, cumplen Perfectamente a mi gusto lo que vale, obtienes un producto de buena calidad, buenos materiales, comodidad, y lo recomendaría para personas no tan exigentes en audio pero tampoco a los que quieren quedarse en lo básico.

Open-back Design comes with benefits and it’s shortcomings. Overall a quality product and I’m loving it!! Professionals can check for the sound curve and for beginners it’s a worthy upgrade. +This is remarkable piece of equipment for Critical Listening giving a wider soundstage -Being open-back means it is not insulated and sound will leak in or out. +Sound reproduction is gooood! It’s clean with clear and thumpy base. Good highs, mids & low ends. +comfy and airy ear cushions also replaceable +clamping action is comfortable for long sessions +good for sound mixing and mastering, even better in a controlled environment like a studio -not advisable for recording, closed version dt 700pro x is a better option because of the closed-back design If you are someone who likes to hear instruments clearly, enjoy the vocals, don’t like overpowering bass without compromising the thump in the lows like kick drum, then this does it with a breeze. Construction quality is superb and sturdy. Speaks volumes of quality. Designed for audio production but also for people who appreciate clean audio.

Kupione do grania w BF6 na PS5, podłączam je do Edge'a i działają :). Sprawdzone i do tego do czego je kupiłem są idealne, słychać każdy krok, każdy wystrzał, każdy szczęk zamka. Granie w nich to jak posiadanie legalnego wallhacka, dokładnie wiesz gdzie jest przeciwnik zanim zobaczysz go na ekranie. Nie są męczące nawet podczas kilku godzinnych sesji. To o czym trzeba pamiętać to fakt ,że to słuchawki otwarte i słychać otoczenie a otoczenie słyszy co w nich gra, dla mnie to plus bo nie tracę kontaktu z rzeczywistością.
