Not For Do It Yourselfer But Great Product & Supplier
Price was good. Delivery was earlier than promised. Product is good. Problem is with Viper making installation as difficult as possible to protect their dealer/installer base. We are a 68 year old auto repair business that is and has been involved in installation, repair and maintenance of many diverse automotive aftermarket accessories and are a specialist in electrical systems and electronics. We have been dealer/ installer of several brands sound systems, security systems, and remote starters and were "testing the waters" to decide if Viper was a good product to add.If you're not a professional, order from and have a dealer install your system - it's good quality, but may be beyond your capabilities to properly install and program. The included owner and operator's manual is extremely limited and not intended for the do-it-yourself-er or inexperienced Apprentice or Journeyman technician.

Pay that installer a percentage of your annual salary - this is not cheap.
Just beware, if you buy this, the chances of you being able to successfully install it yourself are probably zero. You have to go to a certified installer cause they are the only ones with access to the wiring schematics. Whatever you spend on a viper system, be prepared to spend another $400-600 on installation.

Does not seem to work ALL of the time
Presently the car may or may not start when the remote is used. The car is a 2013 and very new / reliable. So it is not the car. After completing the investigation I may or may not recommend the item.

awesome, excellent range.
Had put in a Bulldog rs83b, but the range was about 20 paces from the car, and couldn't get the parking lights to work. I had to park right next to my front door, wouldn't even start the car in the street in front of my house, about 15 to 20 paces away. Frustrated, did some online research and bought this one. The range is awesome. Can start the car from inside the gym's locker room even though it's through a brick wall and about a block away. Also the parking lights work. I highly recommend it but beware the Viper web page says it won't warranty Viper's bought online and lists sights and Amazon is one of them. Fortunately Amazon warranties there stuff though because they offered to take back the Bulldog, so they would most likely warranty the Viper themselves. Bulldog has excellent customer service and tech support.Viper has NO tech support or customer service; neither of those exsist for the general public for Viper. Viper only supports it's registerd installers so your on your own if you have problems, and I called a local Viper installer with a question and he wouldn't talk to me. The choice is your's....

You need to be a dealer to get the secret color coded wires
The product does not come with the instructions on installation, only a reference guide. Took me a long time to find and download the multiple paged manual. Then I was half way with the installation when I came to the part about my Honda 2003 Pilot comes with a factory security system that needs to be overridden. Back to the internet. That's when I discovered the company who makes the product will only give that info to the dealers. The manual even states it is to be installed only by a technician. So I took it to the local remote installer person who will finish it for a little over $200.

I was going to install it for my mom, but decided to hire a pro.
You are probably not going to want to install it yourself. Lots of connections. I was going to install it for my mom, but decided to hire a pro.

Works like a charm, cold winter in NY, ordered just in time
I live in an apartment building on the third floor, my windows face north. My car is in our lot in the parked in the opposite direction and is probably a good 200 feet away. The auto start works like a charm and I never thought it would in the parking space. The first few days I was parking out front on the street figuring that was the only place it would work, I stand corrected.I had the unit installed locally and it was done in. 35 mins and cost $200.00. For the price I thought the system would be a cheap piece of junk, I could not have been more wrong. For under $300 I have an awesome perk for the cold winter. Bye, my car is a 2008 jeep unlimited so if you own a jeep you need not be concerned.
