Six stars -- phenomenal quality, truly cat resistant.
We have a cat nicknamed Cordbane. He likes chewing on ends, and if a cord catches his attention, he can sever it before you even notice he's there. And furthermore, he can crush small metal objects with his back teeth. He's a sweet cat, but the cord thing can be really troublesome. His depredations have created some workplace awkwardness whenever my phone unexpectedly died overnight due to damaged charging cables.So I gave these a try. When they arrived, I was disappointed to note that the cord was not fully encased, but rather, it was just wrapped in a slinky sort of steel spring. I worried that Cordbane's sharp little teeth could get through the gaps and cause just as much damage as they did before.Luckily, that wasn't true. I'm so pleased. I've watched that little hellion gnaw on the cord at length (an acceptable gamble, since it's a two-pack), I've seen him chomp the ends with his back teeth, and -- nothing. The cord doesn't care. I don't think the springy casing is even scratched. Cordbane might have been able to mess up the cord with his baby teeth, but I'm not sure, and anyway, that phase doesn't last long in kittens.In addition to resisting my stupid cat -- and, based on what I've seen my stupid cat do, I think it would hold up pretty well against most dogs -- this is a good quality cord. No complaints from my devices; they charge at the expected rate. The ends have stayed in place and the stress relief seems adequate. The steel cladding gives the cord a lovely slinky feel that's easy to locate on the nightstand and never tangles.

Did not even last a week before the metal sheath pulled out and cable quit working.
