Pilot Acroball Colors Advanced Ink Refillable & Retractable Pens, Ball Point Pens, Medium Point, Black Ink, 1.0mm, 12-Count

I have used Acroball pens (by Pilot) for years. They are awesome! These pens have good ink, and write smoothly. I use them for doing puzzles at home, but mostly use them at work. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good pen!!

I'm particular, I like the crinkle and texture of certain papers, the binding and weight of certain books. There's something about this pen that's special. It was the ONLY pen I used to take notes in my 4 years of college. Hence the reason why I bought a large pack of these. Like, I ran out of ink several times using these pens. The ink is fairly wet/smoother compared to other ballpoint pens (but nothing like a gel pen or the pilot G2). Does smudge if you touch it in like the first 5 seconds but after that it's good. Compared to other ballpoints, the ink is darker and the writing is much, much smoother, which is why I like it. It feels like less friction than your typical cheap bic or whatever. It's not super super fine, but just the right amount to write a page full of notes on college-rule and have it feel filled out and balanced. If you're not particular like me, you'll like this pen. If you are particular like me, you'll like this pen.

I’ve found I really like these pens. They are of high quality and at a good price point. I use them in the office and lab. As a casual artist, I find them useful for field work, road trips and impromptu sketches. My only complaint is the somewhat limited color palette, but there are other high-quality ballpoint pens that can fill the “gaps”. I was looking for some ballpoint pens that exhibit good lightfastness qualities - a Google search indicated these might have that quality. I like to take road trips and often run into some scenes I’d like to make quick sketches of for use later in paintings, color pencil drawings, etc. without having to lug a lot of supplies and putting up with having to deal with spilling water/paint/ink/pencil shavings. These fill that need. The attached sketch of a colorful bulb field on a beautiful spring day in Beaufort County, NC shows what can be done with these pens. I did have to use the Pentel EnerGel lineup (also great) for the yellow/brown/dark green as I could not yet find these in the Pilot Acroball selection. Otherwise, everything else was done with these pens. I do need some practice as I had a problem with small splotches of the ink in the sky - my fault, not the pen’s. Highly recommend.

***** There is such varying quality and performance among pens. For the price, the Pilot Acroball is one of the best writing ballpoint pens out there. I collect both fine (refillable) and disposable pens and have tested hundreds searching for "the pen." I have other opinions on gel, rollerball, and fountain pens, but as for ballpoints, the Acroball is one of my favorites for the below reasons. What I like: + The ink starts immediately upon writing. + Continuous uninterrupted flow of ink. + Not a lot of pressure required to write. + It writes at narrower angles (depending on your writing stance). + The colors are relatively vibrant for a ballpoint.

So smooth and easy to write with! Makes my handwriting nicer lol. Took off a star because a couple of them get clumpy ink at the tip.

Pilot makes great pens. These pen have a great ink flow and color. The grips is comfortable as well.

The pens themselves are great. However, Amazon lists them as black ink. They are NOT black ink, but the color of the pen (pink, green. blue, etc.). I had to send back,, but only because of Amazon, not the pen quality. I like these because they do not smear.

I bought these thinking they were gel pens and to my pleasant surprise they write amazing. Very nice ballpoint pens with specially formulated ink that glides on the page. They look nice too

Entire box for a good price, great pens. Box came torn up but not an issue for me.
