Grass Seed for People Who Lack Patience
I bought this to repair some bare spots in the yard, and I have to admit I checked for growth far more often than any reasonable person should. ๐ The seed germinated quickly, filled in patchy areas nicely, and gave me visible results faster than many other grass seed products I've used. The combination of seed, fertilizer, and mulch makes it easy to use, especially for people who want a simple solution. It worked well in both sunny and partially shaded areas, and the new grass blended in better than I expected. Even with kids, pets, and regular backyard chaos, it established itself nicely. If you're staring at bare spots in your lawn and hoping for a miracle, this isn't magicโbut it's probably the closest thing lawn care gets to it. Now if Scotts could invent something that keeps kids, dogs, and husbands off newly planted grass, I'd buy that too. ๐ฑ๐คฃ๐๐

Nice grass mix
Grew well and has a nice color green. Definitely needs to be watered twice a day. Took about 3 full weeks to fill in. Ground needs to be tilled well. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because it didn't work as a reseeder and only grew well on the spots that were bare and tilled.

Great results! Very pleased! ๐
I am very pleased with this grass seed! It sprouted quickly! It is thick, green & durable! Needs consistent watering to get started. It was hearty over the hot So Cal summer. Looks very nice when mowed. I have bought 4 bags so far to cover side yard and now working on back yard. It sprouts in all seasons in So Cal climate. Very pleased! Worth every penny! (Not a paid reviewer, just a homeowner w green grass!) These seeds are coming up nicely through the back yard weeds. Once the grass is thicker & mature, i will toss out some weed & feed to clear the weeds & maintain the grass! Yay! This is the real pic of my new grass! (Some leaves in the pic from the Santa Anaโs blowing)

NEITHER RAPID NOR PROLIFIC
I've lived on my .54 acres of lawn for 30 years. This is the first time I've tried my luck with an early October spread and as such, I can only vouch for this product's Autumn performance. Most of the reviews of SCOTTS RAPID GRASS confirm my own results namely, poor to middling performance in the Hudson Valley, NY. THE VARIABLES: The temperature this autumn (2021) ranged in the mid-forty's with a high of 60 and a low of 36. Precipitation ranged from 'flood warning' to near draught. No matter, I've been watering the newly seeded area twice a day for over a month--Nice sunny weather overall. The results have been weirdly 'spotty'. Nice healthy patches grew--but this accounts for only 8% of the lawn. These random tufts look great--if you like random 12 inch diameter turf that remind me as hair transplants. BY COMPARISON: One year ago, I commissioned an entirely new septic system in my 'back yard'. Tons of new soil was dumped and smoothed over. The contractor then tossed grass seed by hand and called it a day. Within a week, the stuff started to sprout--and 60 days later, I had a full viable lawn! LONG STORY SHORT:: While not a total dud, this $60+ investment accomplished little to rejuvenate my lawn. These seems to be neither rhyme nor reason for this spotty performance. As much as I'd like to blame the product failure on 'human error', I did every, short of lying down and singing the seeds a lullaby. Maybe your experience will be different. This expensive product couldn't compete with the sack of 'contractors seed' my septic guy tossed around. I am more confused than disappointed.
