There is a sticker on the outside of the book which I have attempted to remove but it looks like it could damage the cover so left it on as I bought it for a gift. Would have given 5 stars if not for this.

Received this fine edition and found to my absolute horror that a sticker was applied right across the embossing on the back, a sticker that was almost impossible to remove without damaging the leather. What's the point of a luxury edition if you're going to ruin it with a sticker? Shame on you, Amazon!

I've been a fan of David Day for 40 years—ever since I was 12 years old and found a copy of his A Tolkien Bestiary in a used bookstore.
