Could holes for cords be drilled on bottom? I have items for the top I want to be able to hide the cords inside.

I think so, with the right tool,,I think you could make a beautiful lamp out of them. I really love my would buy again if I needed them.

Has anyone used these to store dog food or bird food? I am wondering if the lids fit tight or they just lay on top loosely.

It is not a tight fit to be able to store food.

Can these be used as a stool?

I would not suggest to use them as a stool. The metal is on the soft side.

Will these rust on an outside covered patio ?

I don’t think they will rust but what I can’t go on top of it because it’s got a wooden top and it’s not anti-. But it’s beautiful
