Upholstery: A Complete Course: 2nd Revised Edition Paperback – July 5, 2016

I ordered this book used. It came from Goodwill Industries of Michiana. Condition of book was listed as "Good". I was amazed when I opened the package and the book was like new. It clearly had not been used in an upholstery shop! No writing, no dog ears, Perfect!I am familiar with general sewing and making slipcovers mostly. I wanted to expand my skills. This book has everything you need to get started with basic upholstery. I'm sure there are some super fancy jobs out there that need a skilled upholsterer. I'm not one to tackle stuff like that. I just want to redo some of my older pieces that are looking a bit worn. This book will serve me well I think!

This book is a very detailed account of upholstery that covers everything from tools, techniques, and even period replicating designs to assit you in keeping the period details of furniture accurate. I would definately recommend this book as a reference tool for the beginner to the professional!

Love it. So thorough and includes a great survey of the history of chairs. Really helpful to me as an upholstery student.

Good coverage of broad range of topics. Definite value in addition to a good instructor!

The book is excellent, it explains everything very carefully and it goes into detail. I think it is very useful for someone who wants to open up a business, it is a complete technical guidance for upholstery.

This book really disappointed me,I expected a step by step Upholstery. What the book is is a look at the history of upholstery and equipment and materials used so if you need a history lesson then this is your book if you want a step by step procedures then don't buy this book.

For me personally, this is the best upholstery book I have bought so far. It is not perfect as there is maybe a tad too much history and prepractical blurb to begin but the diagrams are clear and useful. I wish I could combine all the best bits from the four books I already have with this one - it would be the perfect tome! As I have got older, I find I need a good reference book to help with the steps I have forgotten - this book helps and along with the others it covers virtually everything I need.

This is a very well presented book. It has a logical flow and covers all the essential techniques especially for traditional upholstery. I used it alongside a course as I am an absolute beginner.I have bought other books to compliment it as I found it lacked depth on different furniture types
