Works great
Perfect for keeping my wires off the floor behind my server rack so I can pull it out and put it back against the wall without the casters rolling over them.Would I use it in the garage? Sure I'd try it out for that, but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't last long for heavy daily use. If I were using this daily with tools in the garage, I might be better off spending $50 or a hundred bucks.But it works quite well and I love how the tension is very adjustable. I've been using it for a few months now and haven't had any problems at all.

Not even close on the rated weight
Will not balance the stated loads. Tried connecting a 4 lb weight, and it pulled straight back up with at least 8 lbs of force. There's no way to turn it even lower, though you can increase the pull strength to probably 25 lbs+. Not a well thought out product.

Great find!
I love that I found this. I've been using it to mount my charging cable for my car to the ceiling of my garage. It pulls down to the charge port and when I unplug, lifts it out of the way. It's got an easy spring adjustment on it so you can get the pressure dialed just right.

Poor quality.
Weak spring steel inside keeps breaking. Will switch to another brand. We use these to hang light barcode scanners on forklifts.

Bought 2, 1 broke after 6 months
I bought 2 six months ago. One is still working and the other just broke.I would say they were used a few times a week. Buyer beware.

It works for me barely . A little more range of motion would be better.
It holds the weight of a powder coating sprayer so my bad shoulder it not damaged any more.
