FlexBrew Single-Serve Coffee Maker

I really like this. I've had multiple Keurig machines, but I wanted a less expensive alternative for my travel trailer. What I really like about this, besides the price point, is that you can make precisely the right amount for whatever size mug you're using. No guess work on how many ounces to select for your mug. Simply add desired amount of water to your mug and pour it into the reservoir. This coffee brews substantially hotter than my Keurigs, which is nice. I usually find my coffee does not come out hot enough for cold days with the Keurig. Brews a little slower than the Keurig, which I think makes coffee from this taste better. I love that the machine comes with an attachment to add your own grounds to make a cup, so no need to buy K-cups. This is more versatile and much easier to transport. I recently took mine on a trip to an Airbnb and was the perfect size. It's easier to drain the water for transport too.

I love Hamilton Beach coffee makers! I bought this to replace my old HB scoop coffee maker. It's a lovely machine. I like that it can be used for Kcups, loose coffees & teas, as well as for teabag. It heats well, but is louder than my scoops. I hope it lasts as long as my scoops did. Great Value and versatility. Very narrow profile, so it fits nicely on a counter.

I LOVE THIS MACHINE! It’s so easy to use, works better than the previous model, takes up very little space on my counter, and the coffee is more delicious than the previous model. It isn’t super loud, but it does make a little noise. I love the bold and regular options on the side of the machine because if I need a bolder cup, it makes it perfectly. I highly recommend this machine. Plus it’s affordable compared to similar single cup machines.

You can use reusable pods in it, which I didn’t realize and that is a plus. I did not realize it was limited to only 14 oz but am please with it overall, it brews in a reasonable amount of time, it cleans up easily and it doesn’t leak. I feel it was worth the price.

JUNK!!!!! Would give zero stars if I could. Done buying these Hamilton Beach coffee makers & all single brew coffee makers actually. They all fail, pods are expensive. I ordered 2 of these. One for kitchen, one for guest room. I have had the flex brew for a few years but went through 3 of them, as they all broke within a year but ok. I liked it better than he Keurig which was really a pain. I really only used the single brew side so wanted slimmer one. This one broke 2 days ago, making a HUGE mess all over the place pouring coffee everywhere & everything around it. I only used it for a little over 2 months I think. It was delivered March 20th. Going back to old fashioned coffee brewer that makes a pot of coffee.

It brews a good cup in the slower bold setting as far as K-Cups are concerned. The optional basket for loose grounds yields a very weak coffee. Water brews through it too fast. The base is removable to fit a travel mug but it's a waste. Anything more than 6 oz yields a watery coffee. It works well for making hot water for tea. Since the hopper is removable you can rinse it after each use preventing plain water from getting discolored. Also the unit is very tall and may pose a problem when using under some kitchen cabinets.

I recently bought a water cooler to go in my workshop wood shop, so of course I needed a coffee maker as well. I ordered a different unit that failed when I tried to make my third cup of coffee. I found the Hamilton Beach single serve coffee maker , and we had used Hamilton Beach before so I'm giving it a try. It's great! It holds our standard size cup of coffee , what's the other one did not. It also has the Bold option which is what I make my coffee with every time. It worked the first time flawlessly, and being a big coffee drinker I'm really running it through its paces. It's just the right size to sit on top of my water cooler, so it doesn't take up space in my shop. I know I can trust it's reliability and I'm enjoying having this luxury at my fingertips anytime I want to brew a cup. I would strongly recommend it to anyone in my situation, and I'm sure it would make the perfect travel companion as well.

Bought as a mother's day after my non coffee drinker self bought my mom a bag of ground coffee beans from Costa Rica instead of instant coffee LOL In my defence it looks the same. Anyways love the versatility she can use it to make ground coffee as well as the kcups. I recently got the Tim Hortons French Vanilla pods and it works great. We use boiled water that is refrigerated and it make it hot. Very quick and relatively quiet compared to the sounds of a boiling kettle that I am used too. Visiting family members also enjoyed using the machine, very simple to operate and clean. Hope the price is reflected in the longevity of the machine. I recently bought the cleaning pods, as I saw other reviews suggested using a cleaning pod once a month.

I bought this machine for my mom to replace a large 10-cups + Keurig machine. What a difference! She says the coffee tastes amazingly good, both the pod and the ground coffee ones. It does not use a lot of water, which is a stark difference from the other larger machine that had to be filled by 1+ liter of water to render one cup of coffee. It is easy to use, cleans fairly well. No regrets with this purchase!

Better than instant coffee but still lacks extraction. However, I did not try using Kcup pods. The problem is with the coffee grounds basket. I would suggest for future models to simply scrap the coffee grounds basket and replace it with a reusable Kcup pod (preferably in stainless) that has pre-drilled enter and exit holes that woul fit in the Kcup basket. This will surely create good extraction without having to resort to polluting plastic Kcups.

Update: April 2025 (2 months later) I reordered the product - it is the only single serve from Hamilton Beach and I really want to stick with the brand this one came in a plastic sealed box, which was taped, in a cardboard protect that was sealed, it was a total different coffee maker, I am now convinced the last one was not the correct one, I am so completely satisfied with the product so far I love Hamilton Beach, my previous coffee maker is still going strong (7 years and counting) I just wanted something with the single serve as I no longer need a pot attachment. This one is advertised as a 14oz compacity but it only fills up 12 - even the box it came in said 12 oz but the ad says 14oz so that was very disappointing, I had to return it and unfortunately give it a one star review for false advertisement.

Using it daily. just the right narrow size for our kitchen.
