Audel Welding Pocket Reference (Audel Technical Trades Series)

The biggest skill lost in today’s era is reading a book. I’m currently in school for welding and there’s only so much a teacher who might have been welding for 10+ years can teach you in a 3-12 months (or maybe the teacher just didn’t teach at all). What makes a difference in a welder is what you’re willing to learn on your own this book here will help you learn to be a better welder and knowing what type metals you will be dealing with along with different/most common equipments you will use in the field. You can’t take a laptop, tablet every where you go but you can always stick this very nice compact book in your car, bag, tool box, backpack etc. and never be caught off guard when you see a welding symbols or hear a terminology you are not familiar, or maybe you just forgotten what metals your not suppose to weld on I do believe whatever you’re having trouble with this book will simplify it for, you just have to make sure you read!! 10/10 book.

Well written and in 5 minutes one can feel the experience from the author which provides an easier learn. Not just random facts and practices. I took in each new item seriously, always looking forward to the next and usually give examples th prove these new practices. Very concise and structured lessons presented in an easily digested form, nice and easy butmknowledge rich. After reading a lot of this book, I'll say it's about as good as some of the industry standard books that list for $600+. I still don't know who buys those high priced titles when a good informative book for a reasonable price is available.

Handy reference guide to have on hand. Lots of useful tables and details all in one place that I used to have to stop and hunt down on line. Worth owning.

Great reference guide. Small and compact and fits well in my tool box. I like to have a book to turn to, as I am not always in a cellular friendly area when and if the need to double check something were to arise.

This little book is great. Tons of useful information from deadly gases, to oxyfuel, types of metal, joints, tips, ect... Well worth the money to toss in your bag or tool box, or read this on the pooper instead of your phone. Bottom line, if I lost it, I'd buy another. Would even make a great gift for a hobbyist or a pro.

This book is an excellent reference for those of use who prefer books on paper. I downloaded the Kindle version which I have read "cover to cover". I am not a professional welder but have professional interest from the medical device applications of welding and need a quick reference for welding processes that I may encounter in my professional role. This book is a little dated but gives a thorough background on the science of bonding of various metals and their alloys. Those interested in automated and or exotic processes will need to seek a more sophisticated resource however this book's content serves as an excellent primary source and resource for the fundementals of metalic welding processes. I am out to purchase the print version that I can carry in the field.

The Audel series of pocket references are top notch. Everything you forgot to remember in one book. Drop it in your kit for easy access. Forgot how to remove flux? How to indentify a metal? A welding symbol? A SMAW stainless steel electrode identifier? or maybe how to convert a fraction to decimal. It's all right there easy peasy lemon squeezy. A must have for anyone who likes to weld.

Absolutely fantastic 🤔 really good purchase 👍 it’s not a book to pick up and read all in one go. It’s definitely something worth having to pick up and read when you get five minutes to yourself, being new to Wilding I’m sure I’ll constantly be looking through this little book for tips and tricks on how to complete different tasks. Recommend this to anyone who is starting out

Bought for my step son. Fits perfectly in a toolbox and very well printed and put together, he says its invaluable to have on hand. Also bought him some cute welding stickers as he just graduated from welding school !! Kevin McGinley
