Works perfectly
How can you beat this deal??? It does everything promised and at a good price. I have been able to utilize old hard drives and retrieve data that had been gone for years. It is versatile, easy to use, fast enough for my purposes, compatible with every PC that I have use it with, and it is small and unobtrusive . I highly recommend this to anyone looking to preserve data on their own drives without having to rely on the cloud. 5 stars!

Great product and works perfectly
This product is amazing. I have four old ATA and SATA hard drives taken out of old computers. This device worked immediately allowing me to access all of the drives. It has everything you need, and has three different connectors for different types of drive. I used two and they worked perfectly. Great value.

Issues on one computer, worked on second.
Nonfunctional with one of my machines. The device continuously mounted and unmounted the drive and did not work as intended. Switching to a separate computer mitigated this issue. Functions as intended.

Sadly only worked 25 percent.
The good First off as some one said you get no light when you turn it on you do if you have a drive connected. I had 7 smaller 2.5 drives SATA DRIVES worked no problems the IDE drives that took a a few times to come up could be the drive has been sitting. THE BAD 5 of the 3.5 drives I have could not be read they seem to power up but that’s it had 2 SATA 3.5 and 3 IDE 3.5 all were a fail. And yes I know the drives are good. Out come sending it back it’s nothing mor then a glorified external adapter I had been using one that a pulled out an external drive. And it works fine. I May try another one from another company. I gave it one star because it simply did not work on any 3.5 drives. So yes it half worked but I really did not need it for 2.5 inch SATA DEIVES I needed it for 3.5 IDE and SATA and that don’t work.

Retrieved lost photos easily
Having saved my old computers and inheriting my parents computers in the hopes of salvaging the data that was in them at some time in the future, I was running out of closet space. Then I saw and purchased this product. After I had pulled the 7 hard drives from the obsolete and or broken PCs, I was able to use this product to hook each hard drive (one at a time) to my current PC's USB port and review what all was on the old hard drives. Then I was able to quickly copy the files I wanted to my current PC and delete all the programs, data, and files from the old hard drive. This was a very fast and efficient process. It was great to find old photos that I had forgotten about, thought were lost, or had never seen before and be able to save them. I couldn't believe I was able to access hard drives that were very old and of varying configuration with such ease. All were Windows based and all the hard drives were in working order even though the PC itself may or may not have been. I highly recommend this product. Now I can drill a hole through the hard drive and safely recycle them without fear of losing files forever and recycle all the PCs themselves as there is no longer a need to save them.

Almost perfect
I have mixed feelings about this. While it did work for 2.5 and 3.5 IDE drives, it didn't work for SATA drives. FIRST: you cannot have the provided power block connected when connecting SATA drives, it wont even power on any drives connected to it if you have the power brick connected. Once I removed the power brick then the drives would power up / spin but nothing else. 9 out of 10 times this would fail to see any SATA drive connected to it. Even an SSD wouldn't show up, tried with 7 different SATA drives and all having the same issue. SECOND: if you plug a 3.5 IDE drive into this device first, its difficult / tight spacing to get the molex connector plugged in. Make sure to plug in the molex connector to the 3.5 IDE drive FIRST before connecting the drive to this adaptor to save yourself time and trouble. This doesn't apply to the 2.5 IDE drive or port, that works just fine as long as you have the provided power brick plugged in when using any 2.5 or 3.5 IDE drive. Pros: slim, came with everything needed to get you powered up and connected Cons: beside the SATA port being defective, I would have been nice if they just made the unit a little bigger with the molex connector attached VS having to use an adaptor that is difficult to plug in

Couldn’t connect to Seagate GoFlex Home drive
I bought this to try to get the lost files off of my old Seagate GoFlex Home hard drive. It looked like it had the correct connector but it would not connect. It might connect if I torn the drive casing apart but I’m not prepared to do that!
