For 1.4lb chihuahua how much? Half a tab? Quarter?

Hi, Considering that my 13 year old female German Shepherd has done well with the 2 or 3 cubes that I have been giving her daily, I recommend giving your little Chihuahua a quarter cube. You can monitor how she responds to this amount after a week and adjust accordingly.

How long do they keep unrefrigerated?

you do not refrigerate these. Mine keep for at least 2 months. I'm sure they last longer especially in a Ziploc bag.

The ONLY thing that has worked!

Wow, the only thing that has worked! I have an older Chihuahua, who, despite changes of diet, every homemade suggestion, and just about every supplement, continues to be constipated. This is the only thing that has worked! She only weighs 5 pounds, so I break the chew into 4 pieces, and give her a piece in the am and one in the pm. It worked quickly (within about 4 hours) and I am so happy that she is finally getting relief!
