Lighthouse Micro Flash Lantern, USB Rechargeable Flashlight for Emergency and Outdoor Use

After reading some other reviews, some appear to be having issues with this little lamp. I have purchased 43 of them, most given as gifts to friends and clients. I started out with one, and was skeptical on how well it would work, especially given its size. I was so pleased with the first one, that I purchased the rest directly from Goal Zero - sorry Amazon. Bulk pricing! In the three that I own, I have not experienced one issue. For a small lantern, it really puts out a lot of light. There are 4 LEDs. One push of the button turns it on, lighting all 4 LEDs. A second push of the button only lights two. Pushing the button again turns it off. Holding the button down in either the 4 or 2 lamp configuration allows you to dim the brightness, if you don't require as much light. It also saves on the internal battery charge. Using all 4 LEDs gives you 360 degrees of light. There are 4 little blue lights on top, indicating the level of battery remaining. A full charge with four LEDs in use on full brightness gives me 5-7 hours of light, depending on ambient temperature. Using 2 LEDs on full dim will give you hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of hours of use. Great as a nightlight in an RV, house, or tent. It charges via USB and plugs in, just like you would the cable for your phone or other device, no cable needed. Full charge from flat takes about 2 hours. It also has a little loop on top to attach to a hook or something to hang it from. Small enough to fit in your pocket comfortably. And they are great in an emergency. It also is available with a flashlight configuration, but I have not seen or used that model. As with anything, it is possible they had a bad batch go out, causing those issues for other buyers. Everyone that has one of those I purchased has not had a problem with them. Hopefully Goal Zero stood by their product and made it right for those that had issues. For me (and others) I have found them to be quite the little powerhouse of light. You don't need an additional charger or store bought batteries either. Exactly why I bought two more for myself. And just to clarify, I don't work for Goal Zero, and I'm not a paid ambassador for them. Just my opinion, but it's a great little light!

Great for a small lightweight camping lantern. No mantle - no gas. Rechargeable. Dimming , lasts a long time on one charge. I just got a 2nd one for moto camp kit

This is such a multi-purpose light that I now have 5 of them. For years, I purchased the large multi D battery lanterns for hurricane preparations and electrical outages. The batteries were expensive and the lanterns were bulky to haul around. During our last hurricane evacuation, I charged my Goal Zero Lighthouse Micro Flash lights and knew with confidence that I had enough light to last for a week if needed. My wife and I just returned from visiting relatives and I used one as a night light in our bedroom on low power for a week. When we returned home, it still had almost a full charge. Last summer, I used one as a sailboat mooring light and it worked great. I like being able to recharge and not have to buy batteries. Many uses, small footprint, long life battery, and easy to charge make this light a true winner.

BEST CAMPING LIGHT EVER

In a nutshell, this is a great device that's compact, lightweight and puts out plenty of light where you need it. The fact that it doubles as a flashlight and mini-lantern is a big plus. Pros: * Doubles as a flashlight and lantern * Easy to hold in your hand, lightweight * Powerful flashlight beam. Easily light your path a good 20-30 meters ahead of you. * Nice to have adjustable lantern settings to suit your various needs; set it to low to get light without waking up others sleeping nearby, sit it to high to brighten up your campsite cooking area or tent. * Recharge with USB, so no need to futz with batteries. Great if you use other Goal Zero products like the GZ150. * Has a hook so you can hang it. CONS: * The USB connector implementation is a bit janky. It simply folds under the device and remains exposed to dirt and the elements, which if you're not careful could then get into whatever device you plug it into to recharge. Not cool. IMHO this should be redesigned with a protective cover, or at least fold back into the device in a way that the USB connector opening is not exposed to the elements. Just take care to not let dirt get into it and you should be ok, but if you go camping, you know it's inevitable. * The hanging hook is great, but you can't put a carabiner on it and snap it closed. This is inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. * The power/mode switch button is also janky. It's inconveniently placed and REALLY hard to switch between modes. Instead of placing it near the lens of the flashlight, it should instead be on the body with an easily accessible and easy-to-press button, not the tiny little nub that requires a very firm press to do simple mode changes. Absolutely the worst designed aspect of this device. If you're camping and it's dark, you don't want to have to fuss around trying to find the stupid button. This was very frustrating and absolutely should be redesigned. So in a nutshell, the cons I list are really annoyances but not deal breakers. For the price, this is a solid solution for camping lighting needs. It will not produce the same kind of powerful light that the GZ 400 lamp will, but to light up a small tent or table for eating, this does great. Over time, you will find the button very frustrating to use, and I suspect if you're like me you'll start looking for an alternative product that gives the same capability without the frustrations. Hopefully Goal Zero will redesign this device to get rid of these annoyances, in which case I'll happily buy a replacement rather than giving my money to their competition. But again for the money, it's decent, but it could be better.

Tiny, lightweight, and very bright. Battery life is quite good for such a small thing. This is a backpacker's best friend when setting up camp in the dark. I got it on Mowser's recommendation, and I'm glad I did.

I love this little light! I use it for a flashlight in general sized areas and in small spaces because it fits in the palm of my hand. I’ve used it as a nightlight and a reading light. It has 3 ways to use it and I’ve used all 3. It is easy to recharge. For such a small item it does multiple things well.

Came in super handy during Helene outages. Excellent light, handy (tiny for my small hands!) and great battery life. This thing works so much better than my heavy battery operated flashlight, I even carry it in my bag now. Highly recommend!

It is smaller than what many people think when watching the photo... But it works great! The lantern style is perfect for an emergency lighting when the power goes down. The torch option works properly as well. A good item to have!

I love this pocket sized torch, hanging, dimmable light. It does everything you could want and does it very well. Battery life is excellent and it is very well made. Hang it in you tent, clip it to your gear, light and robust and weather resistant. Over all very impressed with this tiny little light, performance is excellent it can be as dim as you want for a night light or as bright as you need to undertake any task, and throws a good circle of light all round. This can be reduced to half by a push of the button really easy to use. Overall an excellent item to have in your camping and hiking kit.
