I was skeptical but watching the first episode of the first disc of season 1, every scene is absolutely stunning. The dolby atmos is superb. This is jaw dropping and I am not fond of exaggeration.

I have already purchased each individual Blu Ray season, but decided i would love to have the 4K box set. It is absolutely worth the money. The box set is gorgeous, each season cover is beautiful, & the discs look exceptional on a 4K, or regular HD TV. If you are a fan of the show or the books & want to revisit this fantastic world from time to time, this is the definitive way to do so. As for a review of the show, it is one of the greatest pieces of television ever produced. This show is about the tragic nature of mankind, which really could be said about all Grimdark Fantasy. This isnt comfort fiction, this is a realistic picture on the psychological nature of mankind. Its not always pretty, as reality is not always fair, or as glorious as most fantasy or fiction would have you believe, but it paints a much more grounded & harsh picture of what its like to be human, but within this amazing medieval fantasy world. Many like to focus on their disappointment for the ending, however i am not one of them. If anything, this show has become more about the journey than the destination, and it is one hell of a journey. I have already watched the show 2 times since it ended & it holds up wonderfully. The last two seasons are the weakest, but still have many redeemable qualities & scenes. Either way, i could never be so spiteful as to hate something i love simply because of a disappointing ending. I have seen too many stories end horribly in my lifetime for me to let that bother me. It is what it is. Instead i choose to focus on what i do like, & there is a lot to like here. Game Of Thrones set a new standard for television. If you have yet to see it, i urge you to at least give it a try. Everything you need to know about human nature, for better or worse, is within these 8 seasons. It has become one of the most meaningful TV shows to many & could be to you as well.

Most honest review here. First off, this show in 4K is absolutely stunning. They used a $100k camera and it shows. I own the Blu-rays, and I can confidently recommend the upgrade for any GoT nerd like myself. So there are in-fact some freeze screens. They are not a dealbreaker for me. I just fast-warded a second or 2 past that spot and were ripping. I have a feeling these little issues were the main reason for the price drop. If I had the option to buy the same version at the current discounted rate, vs a perfect $300+ I’d do it again. It is not frequent or deal-breaking for me. These discs pump out high bit rate, which is fantastic if you’ve got good/great 4k player or a great media server. I tried watching on a cheap older player—the mouth timing was off, and motion scenes were blurry. But after seeing it in perfection on a better unit, I can say with confidence you’re missing out if you don’t have a Dolby Vision, high–bit rate setup like my mid tier Sony UBP-X700/M and up. Should you just buy the whole season digitally for $100? For convenience yes. I think having both is great. Update 5/23/26- Wow season 6 has been a mess so far. If this is your favorite season buy the Blu-ray or digital. 6/14/26- Season 7 has been flawless.
