Good touch and feel plus well-placed keys

I used one of these keyboards for about five years after which it wore out. That seems like a good life to me since I work in the computer department and use the keyboard a lot. What I did not realize when I purchased a brand X replacement is that some manufacturers have their own placement of the right side shift and back slash keys. One I tried had the right shift key at the far right which was very inconvenient. Too much hand movement required to use. This keyboard places the seldom used back slash at the far right, moving the right shift key to a better position.I would definitely purchase this keyboard again.

Does NOT last

Keys started failing after less than 2 years of office use. Both units already thrown out. Back to using Logitech corded keyboards.

Meh. It rattles.

Frankly, I got this keyboard because it is 0.4" shorter than the classic, going-out of production keyboard. But the keys not struck rattle. And the whole thing feels cheap. It makes a cheap, hollow sound when I hit it. It's not going to bend -- I don't think -- so it's not going to give me key bounce. But I'm going to get the classic while I still can.The L-shaped Enter key is a broad L, so the backslash key is displaced . . . right where I am likely to hit it when I go for the right shift key.Keytronics got the design and construction of this thing wrong. It is not a worthy successor to their classic E03601 series. I'm surprised they put their name on it.Ah, well. At least it came fast.

Key Tronic Lifetime Series Keyboard - Black

I am a little disappointed with this keyboard compared to past experiences with Key Tronic. Sometimes keys pressed on the left side of the keyboard will double enter like "aa" instead of "a". The left shift key does not always respond. The right shift key is ridiculously small for a shift key. Tactile response feels better than some of the cheaper keyboards I have used in the past. The layout itself feels rather cramped. Yes, the Enter key is large and "L" shaped it does seem to be at the expense of space throughout the rest of the keyboard.

Great Keyboard but Don't Spill on it

I am a die-hard Keytronic fan. Keytronic makes the best typists keyboards, in my opinion. The feel is perfect and the spacing between keys makes it easy not to accidentally also hit a neighboring key they way all the OEM keyboards with their ultra-flat too-close-together keys make you do these days.Keytronic keyboards last and last. I've worn the letters off (though not quickly) and polished the textured plastic smooth and bright (which also takes a while) but never worn one out. I have ruined them, however, including the one I'm typing on right now, by spilling beverages on them. Don't spill on them! What happens is the key spilled under will become intermittent. On this one, the space bar sometimes doesn't work because I spilled some coffee under it. Soda or anything with sugar in it is worse than black coffee, but coffee or tea with cream will ruin it just as badly. When the beverage dries, you may have to pound the offending key, if it still works at all.Fortunately, Keytronic keyboards can take a really serious pounding. I use the heck out of them and hit the keys pretty hard, but I have never had one fail from rough use or over use. They can take it.Lifetime guarantee and all, and I suppose I could send it in, but then I'd have to wait for it so I'd only need another one anyway so I'll just buy another one. Besides, it wasn't really defective. I don't know that it's guaranteed not to fail when spilled into. This is the second one I've ruined this way, so it's not that bad considering I've been using Keytronic keyboards for well more than 10 years. If you consider yourself a typist at all, get a Keytronic and enjoy the feel and confidence of typing on a keyboard made by people who clearly appreciate what quality keyboard design means to the typist. It means a lot.

BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!! However, the key lettering does soon begin to wear off.

I have been using this Keytronics keyboard for 2 1/2 years, and it is the best I've ever had out of about 12 different ones I have tried, always trying to find a better one (just ask my wife). A few months ago, I did have a small problem with the backspace key sticking. I sent it to Keytronics and they fixed it and returned it to me promptly. It has worked perfectly since, and who knows, the stickyness my have been my problem to begin with. I doubt I'll ever use anything else. I'm thinking about getting a new PC soon, and when I do, I'll get my a new keyboard just like this to go with it.

Sucked

Being an IT guy.. Keytronic was always the "tough as nails never fails" standard for keyboards.. I got a couple of these for the shop and both had issues and stopped working about 3 months in. Have since replaced with el-cheapo $5 keyboards that have lasted twice as long already

Not "the best keyboard in the world." But still good enough for me.

I don't know if this is still "the best keyboard in the world", as described on the box. It's mushy. It has the Jumping Backslash key. I'm kind of hoping the mushiness is temporary, because I really love the feel of these Keytronic keyboards. However, it's usable and I won't send it back unless it breaks, because it replaces a jerry-rigged PS/2 keyboard that I was using on this laptop, and it's a bit smaller. Still, I feel as if they're slipping. I hope I'm wrong.
