Good value, decent taste and instantly helps with heartburn

Starting to have digestive problems in my "old" age (64) and for the first time I need to have a strong antacid around, something with a bit more kick than Rolaids or TUMS. Enter Mylanta. A good sized glug of this stuff will "nip it in the bud" as Barney Fife used to say. Just shake it up and have at it. If Mylanta doesn't relieve you acid stomach, you are in serious condition and better see a doc post haste! ALSO, it is fairly safe to use on a daily basis if you absolutely have to. AND IT WORKS FAST! That's the main thing when you reach for an antacid. You need it to work QUICKLY and this stuff will do it! MAJOR RELIEF in less than a minute! I've tried everything except meds like Prilosec, but since I really don't want to mess with my blood chemistry for stomach acid, Mylanta was the way to go for me. It is highly likely it will work for you as well.

This seems to have the same ingredients as mint Maalox, which has been discontinued. This has magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide, as well as simethicone. The simethicone is likely useless but also probably harmless. I prefer antacid liquids because they can act directly in the esophagus. I suppose chewable Tums also might work in the esophagus. The flavor is acceptable, not especially strong, which is good.

it really works but it is vile. it smells weird, tastes really bad and the mouthfeel is extremely unpleasant as it is very thick and chalky. i seriously need to psych myself up to take it and then hold my nose to force it down and immediately chase it with water; however, it’s not meant to be a tasty treat despite the “smooth creamy taste” bit. i have issues with heartburn, trapped gas, indigestion, etc. that have led to many sleepless nights but this stuff has saved me several times. despite the taste, i prefer to use this over omeprazole capsules because i find it works better and quicker.

Keep this in my travel bag for when I’m away from home and unsure of what I’m going to be eating or how it may affect me and my acid reflex. I keep the bottle open with another bottle of water next to it so that during the night if I have a problem I’ve got it. On a recent trip to Dayton Ohio I have a broccoli salad which was fried. It sounds good and healthy enough but it’s 2 o’clock in the morning I had a total acid reflux situation going on I grab this used it and it put me back in shape in seconds. So am I devices by this and don’t eat the Brussel sprout salad be well

I don't use it a lot because I like to go #2 occasionally, but nothing beats this of course (besides that ER drink with lidocaine in it) for stomach discomfort. —Of course you need to, um, eat some prunes or other natural fibers after taking more than one dose of this stuff, but it does the job. Sets up like concrete but does the job of coating the stomach, and I can stay off those awful PPI prescriptions, or that powder concoction the pharmacy will make you (UGGHHHHH the stuff that super-coats digestive system and probably even your arteries and your brain, and that stuff tastes AWFUL). Get this. Don't overdo it. Drink LOTS OF WATER and get exercise if you need more than one dose every few days.
